Swashbuckler 1700 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 So many sources say that they were used like Joseph Haycock's slop shop. But what were sailors Frocks? "I have not yet Begun To Fight!"John Paul Jones
Ivan Henry aka Moose Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I believe it would be a pull over garment, with little detail (for the most part). I just made one from a Reconstructing History pattern. While this one is is 16th Century, I am pretty sure that they continued through the GAOP in a slightly different form. But I am not certain.
Mission Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Wow. Here I was complaining about how silly knee pants look... Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

Mission Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Patrick, I'd be willing to forgive the prince of pirates and a master pirate reenactor like you anything. (But it still looks extremely silly to me.) Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."
