Looking at the schedules, it seems mighty thin around here all summer. Even a bunch of the regular events have not published details for this year. Hawkyns Cannon add dignity to what otherwise would be merely an ugly brawl I do what I do for my own reasons. I do not require anyone to follow me. I do not require society's approval for my actions or beliefs. if I am to be judged, let me be judged in the pure light of history, not the harsh glare of modern trends. Hook Posted June 20, 2012 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Hawkyns - Festival update after the fact. http://www.thepiratefestival.org/ The event was run and coordinated by the LI Maritime Museum's staff. Pirates of the Northern Star, Ye Pyrate Brotherhood, Valhalla's Pirates, Kings of the Coast provided entertainment plus The Brigands, Pirates for Sail, Bawdy Buccaneers, Strike the Bell and John Corr for music. I think that any actual camping was sub rosa. It appears that the event was a success and the maritime museum is talking about doing it again next year (2013). Jas.
