Mission Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 Ah, thank you muchly! Interesting that most of the wounds appear to have been shot of some form or another. I wonder if they referred to splinters caused by cannon balls as being caused by gunshot? Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."
Swashbuckler 1700 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Ah, thank you muchly! Interesting that most of the wounds appear to have been shot of some form or another. I wonder if they referred to splinters caused by cannon balls as being caused by gunshot? I think both made enough splinters to cause damage. Even muskets were quite a guns. One clear example that men prefered firearms. I have heard from many (Yankee) documentaries that the musket could take your leg off but they are (too often) not be trusted( since the style is so often too scandal-seeking). This is not topic but is that a myth that the musket can took one's leg off? "I have not yet Begun To Fight!"John Paul Jones
