Thank you, but I should have thought of it long ago. We need to archive our event history and I know I'm missing dates and events. Feel free to pipe in, everyone. There are dozens I haven't added, and if we include every event that our good doctor attends alone, the list would be huge!

What constitutes a Mercury event? How about the Santa Maria events? Much of the crew is Mercury and many of those who aren't don't have a crew affiliation that I'm aware of other than the Scioto Pirates (Michael & Kate and Mark & Jennie (who are also Mercury Crew members), Thomas and Dan. Maybe George/Ken, although he's really part of the Santa Maria crew.) You might also look at the various Surgeon's Journals for reference. (I think the dates may even be on them for the PiP events.) If anyone asks me which crew I'm at during any of those events except the BB thing, I say Mercury.

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

What constitutes a Mercury event?

For the sake of this archive and future calendaring I would say that any event where a member of the crew participates could be calendared or archived. This participation may vary. For example, when at Searles the event re-enacted predates the timeline of the Mercury, but with so many members of our group their as pirates of an earlier time, it's still a Mercury attended event. In that case it's more about the players than the characters portrayed. A person might also attend as a captive or borrowed character of the Mercury. The Archangel crew invites me out to all sorts of events as a member of their crew, but I've insisted with each invitation, that I could only be a captive or guest, never a member of the Archangel. My loyalties remain with the Mercury. It's a pretty loose set of rules, but so is the Mercury.

The Santa Maria was my next thing to add. I best go searching for dates.

The Santa Maria events were always (Sept) the weekend closest to TLAPD and in May it was usually the fourth weekend. This year it will be the third weekend. Michael, Kate and I were sort of shanghai'd into the Archangels when I went in 2008. I was told you needed to be a member of an existing crew. However, as I said, I always tell everyone I am the Mercury ship's surgeon. (This is mostly because I like the Mercury's Captain so much.) You should also stick Put-in-Bay 2010 and 2011 in there. Those were both the weekends before the 4th of July weekend 6/24-26, 2011 and 6/25-27, 2010. This year it's June 22nd - 24th.

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

Wow, great work Mr. Brand! What is crazy, despite the huge diversity in locations on that pretty extensive list... I think there are only three or four on that list that I have not been present at.

There were a couple (like literally two) Mercury at the July 2009 Lockhouse http://s299.photobuc...%20July%202009/

I am fairly certain we (the wife and I) made it to one of the November Lockhouse events as well, I am just unsure what year it was (2008? 2009?) I think Dorian Lasseter was also present at whichever November Lockhouse it was we were at (although it might have been the July one for all my memory is worth).

EDIT: going through the wife'ss photobucket account a little deeper, it was November 2009... http://s608.photobucket.com/albums/tt164/Kate_Souris/Lockhouse%20Nov%202009/

I actually have links to most of the albums I was allowed to use in the Journals at the end of each Journal (in the Epilogue). Unfortunately, as I discovered when trying to update the PiP 2007 Surgeon's Journal with album links (which it had not had before the update), many of these albums have disappeared since people started moving stuff to Facebook.

I'm doing updates to the calendar, so if there's an upcoming event you'd like to see on the list, or an event that I failed to archive, please let me know.

The dates for the Utah Pirate Festival have been established for September 13th-15th (Friday through Sunday). A few crew members have already hinted that they might attend, so I'll be adding to the 'ship's stores' extensively. I'm already pricing more boxes, canvas and furniture for the event, and the camp kitchen box is filling up with found items such as plates, bowls, etc. Anyone wishing to attend should let me know their needs. I'm planning on doing a lot before September.

Meanwhile, I hear tell of preparations for St Augustines, Satna Maria and others in the next coming months. Another pirate year is under way.

FYI, the Put-in-Bay website is http://pyratefest.co/

It's not up-to-date, but that's where it is. (They haven't even begun planning it yet AFAIK.)

Also, I will be representing the Mercury at both the Conwy Pirate Festival in Wales and the Eastport Pirate Festival in Maine. They're not Mercury events per se, but I'll still be there writing Journals as if. (You actually can find links to the websites of the events I plan to attend this year at the top of my Events Links page if it interests you.)

Excellent! Thank you for the links and the representation. Lily and Keith should be up to the Eastport event as well, so you'll have some more Mercury to rub shoulders with.

We've passed our first event of 2013, with a great time had by all who attended at St. Augustine. I've updated the calendar to reflect changes to some upcoming events. There is a new juried 'trade fair' event at Fort de Chartres if anyone is interested. It takes place April 5th-7th and is called 'Les Plays des Illinois Colonial Trade Fair & Musket and Rifle Frolic'. Say that ten times fast.

Did any member of the crew actually attend the Fort de Chartres: 43rd Rendezvous event? I shouldn't list it if it wasn't attended by anyone of us.

william, the fort was a washout !! literally !! they blew the damn ( as was told to me ) and gave everyone 2 hours to get the heck out... bos'n carl was planning on attending but the rain scared him away i guess...it was a good thing that nobody went....

I also am planning on attending the fort this fall. If I can come up with clothes and a big enough tent, I'll bring my whole family.
