I most certainly agree.

There are certainly plenty out there to base one on....

Speaking of things not allowed, someone wouldn't put Becky up in her clothes inside the gibbet because it made her look female. I don't think that this was because of the people at the fort proper, however.

What I wonder is what happened to Bucky. Bucky and Becky were made to be a pair and the whole thing would have made far more sense if both of them were up near each other. Twue wove...

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

Best of luck with it.

Does this mean you're not coming?

I believe, William that the good Captain is referring to the ability to heard cats on KW time.

Nay Madame, it simply means as I have stated, nothing more.

Odd, and such a shame after all the work ye put into the pair. Um is not Becky supposed to look female?

Yes she is. Time and money...

I am guessing someone was thinking along socio-political lines when they removed her garb. I don't see it as promoting a social viewpoint, but some people are exceptionally touchy about such things. It's funny, I made a dozen head props before I realized they were all male (because they're far easier to make for various reasons) and decided that was biased. So I created a female head prop. One of my friends got all exercised about her. Nary a peep on the other dozen, but that one was a big problem. Sheesh.

Interesting...I remember trying to ....em..converse with her,(T'was dark out and the being blind thing never helps)...ahem... and I came up behind her whilst she was sitting behind, I think it was Callenish's tent (we were still on the beach)...so I don't recall the condition of her dress, but could it have been used by a person? (Hard to tell from the photos) As if it were taken from Becky for someone in need to wear for some event other than Ft. Taylor?

Conversing with Becky in the dark isn't so bad, it's when the lights get turned on and you get an eyeful of what...whom you're talking to!

Michael made the dress - machine sewed because it was just for a skeleton - but that would have to be one skinnnnnnny person. Becky's waistline is probably size -10.

Actually Deadeye told me he was told to take the dress off before putting her up. That must have been a right pain in the neck, too. Those stupid bolts are hard to work and there are a lot of them.

We have some great things in the works for this year but are in need of a new tag line. Something relating to the Mayan end of the world. We'll take suggestions until June 30th.

Not a tag line, but I just realized how well the chocolate stone will fit in with the Mayan thing *G*

5 - Speaking of wounded, we really could use a second surgeon as a 'fort doctor' for the fallen soldiers and people of the crowd could be called upon to stand watch over the wounded. We might make 'stretchers'.

i am willing to provide my talents as a ships surgeon,

You could also do a surgery. That's one I haven't been willing to tackle yet because I want to make it super-detailed. I'd be glad to assist you.

I'd love to go again, but drive down in a car and show off all the woodwork. I never realized until I flew to an event how much of my impression was supported by my period luggage.

Alas, I can't leave my wife to wrangle a two and a half year old and an eight month old all by herself for a week. I mean, I could, but then I wouldn't need to bother coming home...

"The time was when ships passing one another at sea backed their topsails and had a 'gam,' and on parting fired guns; but those good old days have gone. People have hardly time nowadays to speak even on the broad ocean, where news is news, and as for a salute of guns, they cannot afford the powder. There are no poetry-enshrined freighters on the sea now; it is a prosy life when we have no time to bid one another good morning."
