Jas. Hook Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Considering picking up a Roku box. Anyone feel strongly about them care to share his or her experience? .........and what is a Roku box ??? Cascabel - I had to google it also. Jas. Hook "Born on an island, live on an island... the sea has always been in my blood." Jas. Hook "You can't direct the wind . . . but . . . you can adjust the sails." "Don't eat the chickens with writing on their beaks." Governor Sawney
Jib Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 A Roku Box allows you to use your TV to function as your computer without hooking the computer directly to your TV. That way you can watch downloads from the comfort of your living room if your computer is in a different location in your dwelling. That is over simplified but it allows you to avoid running cables or keeping both pieces of hardware in the same spot. For myself we have our computer in the guest bedroom. It would be nice to watch downloads in the living room without bothering guests and running cables that trip clumsy pirates and large dogs.

jendobyns Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 We have one, but we also have wireless internet and satellite TV, and the other half does all the technical stuff. I have to say it's been great so far. Haven't tried to run it from the computer yet, though.
hitman Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I don't have one but it is the consensus choice on the TWIT network as well as Revision 3. Personally I have always found their advice dead on. THIS BE THE HITMAN WE GOIN QUIET
