kingofshooters
Thanks for the confirmation Jen....it makes athletics more bearable if I can continue buzzing my head every couple of weeks :-)
jendobyns
You're welcome. Oh, I forgot to mention another alternative to the bandanna. Not sure if this applies to sailors, but working men, and men at leisure (at home) wore caps to cover their heads. This piece of art work is a bit OOP, but gives you some idea: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ab/William_Hogarth_063.jpg It's a relatively simple sewing project, and cheap, to make one. kingofshooters
I think I'll stick with the bandana.....I lack the skills to sew , and that looks awkward...LOL Thanks for presenting alternatives ....always better to have alternatives! Ivan Henry aka Moose
This isn't a PC production mind you, but a National Geographic flick on Blackbeard included a main character with a close cropped quaff.

Jas. Hook
King - Hummmm... I picked up a booklet for my great nephew yesterday. It is a National Geographic publication How to be a Pirateby John Halam. In regards to your baldness question the author and the illustrator (Dave Antram) chose about 10% of the pirates illustrated as being bald. Jas. Hook "Born on an island, live on an island... the sea has always been in my blood." Jas. Hook "You can't direct the wind . . . but . . . you can adjust the sails." "Don't eat the chickens with writing on their beaks." Governor Sawney
kingofshooters
That is interesting Jas. Hook....you're right about baldness being with us throughout the ages , but it seems that back then people might have gone for the wig , or chosen the 'Ben Franklin' look.
