I don't remember Colt making a "New Army" but I've been out of the ACW stuff awhile and could be wrong. I've had several of both over the years and I prefer the Remingtons over the Colts due to the complete frame vs. the open-top of the Colts. Just curious. peglegstrick Posted March 15, 2011 Share Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) The new Army was a Remington pistol - .44 cal - with a top strap ( the frame & barrel is together opposed to the Colts frame which has a breakdown wedge to connect the frame & barrel and is open on the top, no pice of metal over the cylinder). Used to do the Civil War stuf for years.
