CharityRackham
A moment of silence, if you will. Ron Patterson, creator of the beloved Renaissance Faire, passed away on Jan. 14, 2011 at 80. This man was one of the few who were left from the original group that began the very format I (and others) use for the renfest or renfaire. He is the one who kept it alive. He's an incredible man and a moment of prayer and best wishes to his children (who continue to keep his company alive) would be appreciated. for more you can read the article on him here: http://sanrafael.patch.com/articles/creator-of-renaissance-faire-dies-at-80 Thank you. Captain Midnight
I am sorry to hear of your loss, my friend, and offer my sincerest condolences. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. CharityRackham
Thanks you lot for the thoughts. It really puts it all in perspective when you think of this man and his 'group' starting something so grand as a renfest (and establishing a format many of us still follow) and they pass away one by one.. Leaving behind something that, in so many ways, is timeless. Something that makes so many people feel young again and drives forward others to create and grow. Sigh I've had my moment and thank you all for being part of it. I can only hope that I have the strength that he had and I can continue on. Thanks.
