My Crew has been selected to help put on a pirate event at a Sheraton hotel in San Diego... In June 2011.

It will be hosted hosted by Gold Coast productions..same people that put on Ojia pirate faire.I have no Flyer for it yet..

How ever wot Eye am looking for is imput on what Activities could be held that would set this event up as being different from the same ole same ole vendor supported festivals. So Far Eye have these Ideas but need more brain storming and thats whare you come in. Please suggest away Any ideas That would in your mind make an event more fun for kids and adults alike. Here are mine so far ~

1) Have a Sparrow present that has a shtick, Stage show , ect (Vinne )

2) Water balloon Battle (Out side vendor) Pirates man ever once in a while with the kids to stimulate thar imagination..

) Walk the plank (Stranglehold )

4) Treasure Hunt (Stranglehold )

5) Live band Like Gallows Humor ( Saw them at Esco )

6) Tahitian Dancers ( Anne D, )

7) Look into a battle reenactment? Lets have some Boom boom !

8)Costume contest for kids

9) Emerson Pirates ? Or Mic and whom he brings to the party

10) A Charity Ball in the evening for the Adults

10.5 ) some fun pirate "hysterical" contest?

11) Need something out of the box thinkin.. that sets this event up to be different from the rest...Lemme think on it..

12) Eye know Eye can bring some props like Willie and the treasure chest to this..ect. The BIG Treasure chest can actually be used in the treasure hunt with the winning booty inside and the key hidden by clues..

13) Create Pirate Island with our Encampment...Hmmmm Treachery Awaits them lubbers!

Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."

What about having a pirate art contest? You would need categories like professional and non professional to be fair. or have one just for kids... or... a coloring contest for kids.

A pirate themed art exhibit would also be interesting, without the competition. Just invite people to bring their pirate art and display it.
