Dread Pyrate Greyhound
A poem I wrote in regard to the Deep connection we all feel to the Age of Pyrates A phenoninon I refer to as possessing 'The Pyrate's Soul' I was born back in 92 Of cares and preocupations I had few But of one thing I was sure of most, To a Pyrate's Soul my body was host So sing with me, Let your spirit Free And Let the pirate soul fly We pirates shall ne'er die So how do know a Pyrate's Soul is taken host in thee? When out to sea thou shalt ne'er feel more free! Of all the things ye love me mate, A pirate could ne'er e'er hate So sing with me, Let your spirit Free And Let the pirate soul fly We pirates shall ne'er die When music plays, tis the hornpipe, you hear You dance a jig and give a cheer When you order a drink, It's rum or grog 'WHAT DIARY!? That's me bleedin' Captain's Log!' So sing with me, Let your spirit Free And Let the pirate soul fly We pirates shall ne'er die All these things you know and do, You were born a pirate ye know Tis True, Many years ago, you plundered the seas and now again, We have the Pyrate's soul my friend So sing with me, Let your spirit Free And Let the pirate soul fly We pirates shall ne'er die Many years have gone and past, But the Age of pirates will everlast So Long as there live them with a Pirate's Soul, The Great Age of Pyrates will never be O'er So sing with me, Let your spirit Free And Let the pirate soul fly We pirates shall ne'er die Let every man Know freedom, Kings be damned, And let the Devil sort out the mess afterwards. William Brand
I found myself singing it as much as reading it each time I came 'round to the chorus of sorts.
Dread Pyrate Greyhound
Yeah, It could be a song of sorts. Let every man Know freedom, Kings be damned, And let the Devil sort out the mess afterwards.
