Capn Bob Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Pat Croce is moving his Pirate Museum in Key West to a new location, in St. Augustine (he *should* open up a branch in Akron OH, but that seems unlikely...). During the construction work, a few...things...have turned up... Historic artifacts found at St. Augustine's new pirate museum British-period sword hilt found Damn, thats sharp!
Dread Pyrate Greyhound Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Yeah, someone does need to do something piratey for the inland states. I've toyed with the idea of building a pirate festival on Lake Erie, maybe Kelley's Island. Let every man Know freedom, Kings be damned, And let the Devil sort out the mess afterwards.
Capn Bob Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Keep me updated on how that works...I've been to Kelly's Island before...might be interesting for a bunch of villians, neer-do-wells, and outright pirates take over one of the ferries... Dread Pyrate Greyhound Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Aye, tis just an idea at this point, but I would love to work something out, I did do a scetch of a map of a village, with a small fort, the idea being that some pirates have set up a camp near the shore to carreen and resupply their ship and spend their plunder in the town, with the garrison and governor being wary. each passing year would have the plot revolve around either historical pirates or fictional pirates from classics like Treasure Island. I've also considerd getting the USS Niagra to take part since it's just a short voyage away in Erie Pennsilvania. But it's sadly only an idea at this point. I am on good terms with the owner of a local renfaire, maybe he could give me a few pointers. Let every man Know freedom, Kings be damned, And let the Devil sort out the mess afterwards.
Captain Jim Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 That's the scenario that we used in Key West for FTPI. Seems to have worked out well. My occupational hazard bein' my occupation's just not around...
