Jib
Thought I might enjoy reading the diaries of Samuel Pepys but when looking on Amazon I noticed that many versions are available. Can you help suggest a printing?
Iron Jon
If you don't mind reading it on your computer or on an e-reader I suggest Gutenberg - Pepys-complete Lots of old books to download for free or to read online. I saved all of the Pepys on my Kindle along with Johnson, Defoe, Dampier, and all the other great pirate books available. Jonathan Washbourne "Jonathan Washbourne Junr of Bridgwater appeared in court and was ordered to pay £5 fees and charges or be publicly whipped 20 stripes for his abusive and uncivil behaviour to Elizabeth Canaday Late of said Bridgwater by Thrusting up or putting of a skunk under the Cloaths to her Naked Body And then saying he had Done the office of a midwife." CrazyCholeBlack
Honestly, my personal favorite place to read Pepys (aka Mr. Shop & Shag) is the on-line blog version Pepys' Diary Blog I love that it's annotated & that it's timely to the actual day. I read it like some would read their daily news feed. Chole "If part of the goods be plundered by a pirate the proprietor or shipmaster is not entitled to any contribution."
