Capt. Sterling Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) As Living History is a key factor for this year's Fort Taylor event and each crew is required to provide demos during the public hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I thought it would be helpful to begin a thread for listing which crew will be doing what demos. Once we see what crews are willing to do, perhaps we can lump some of them together... for instance instead of having multiple weapons demos for each time frame, perhaps we can pool the buccaneers together with GAoP and 1800s so we can also show the evolution of the weaponry. Just a thought... hurricane Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Did it ever occur to anyone here that they should perhaps email the leaders of the various encampments listed in being in attendance to see what they're interested in doing? The assumption here seems to be that everyone planning to camp actually visits the pub here often, or even still. This simply isn't the case and I'm sure they would all be excited to offer up their strengths, if there were to know this was all being discussed here. I know that Jill Handed Red and her husband know many of the period games and have been running them there for four years now. Might want to clue everyone in. -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. hurricane Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I use one example of someone who is camping there and will need to have a demo and ask the planners to contact her and that's a criticism of the boards? Geesh! Sorry. Consider it withdrawn. -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. Silkie McDonough Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I said "on the boards" not "of the boards". Hurricane, you are a writer are you not? You know what words you use and how to use them. Had you simply made a suggestion rather than starting the post as an "attack" it would not have come across as a criticism. Honestly I think the suggestion has merit.
fastwitchwork Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 If we go...the hubby and I, we will be a drumming, hopefully with the other musicians that show up and for all the pirates, lords & ladies. But our appearance depends upon if we will be able to camp outside of the Fort, since all we haves of right now is a modern tent. Stitch Witch

Had you simply made a suggestion rather than starting the post as an "attack" it would not have come across as a criticism. Honestly I think the suggestion has merit. It was not an attack. Rather it was a simple statement of fact. There are a number (not saying a sizable number) of people who are involved in PiP and the Fort Fest who don't visit pyracy.com much. Thought it important that all of us be mindful of the importance of inclusiveness in planning. As such, it was put forth in that spirit with no sense of malice, pot stirring or finger pointing. A simple request. That was all, with a framework of context placed around it. Capt. Sterling Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 Right then, so who are some of the crewe leaders that are not on the pub that attend the Fort portion of the event?
