MarkG Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 hey, she has been out of the news for a while. last i heard, she was left on the bottom for a while to help keep her intact. does anyone know anything about her? http://sealionprojec...liondirect.html I'll be driving past there to pick up the Black Sheep. Maybe I'll have time to swing by and take a look. I tried to see it several times in the 1980s. The foundation that was formed to run it lost interest after they took over some 19th century ships and they never seemed to have the Sea Lion open. Their site says that it was sold to a group in Buffalo but I remember seeing an article at the time that said that they pretty much gave it away (a dollar might have changed hands). Mark
Hawkyns Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 It's a great pity. I was on her several times in the 80's when she was still on Lake Chataqua. Beautiful ship. Hawkyns Cannon add dignity to what otherwise would be merely an ugly brawl I do what I do for my own reasons. I do not require anyone to follow me. I do not require society's approval for my actions or beliefs. if I am to be judged, let me be judged in the pure light of history, not the harsh glare of modern trends.
