Jamaica Rose
The Port Royal Privateers are in need of your help. On January 21st, their trailer, with ALL of their gear, tents, tarps, poles, stoves, props, tools, accessories, treasure chest, EVERYTHING the group owned to build an area to entertain the public, was stolen from it's storage place in San Bernardino. Please keep a watchful eye out for things being sold, especially in Southern California, but also on E-Bay, Craigslist, other living history forums, etc. If you have any information, contact the PRP at: prpboard@yahoo.com Info on trailer: 2006 Pace Trailer 12 Ft White closed trailer with side door and rear door and ramp License plate # 4HM2469 Vin #: 4P2FB121X6U072862 Inside modifications includes compartments built in's (however, they can be removed). We hope to get a photo of the trailer and some of the props posted here soon. Please spread the word to any living history or reenactment groups you might belong to. Thank you for any help you can offer, and at least for taking the time to read this --Jamaica Rose P.S. This announcement was cross-posted. It's also in The Crows Nest forum (with Stynky's permission). --Jamaica Rose Editor of No Quarter Given - since 1993 http://www.noquartergiven.net/ "Bringing a little pirate history into everyone's life" Find No Quarter Given ... on Facebook: facebook.com/noquartergiven ... and on Twitter: @NoQuarterGiven

Jas. Hook
Ahoy Jamaica Rose! Beside the physical specs listed was the trailer marked or lettered in any way that would make it conspicuous now or after a repaint.... raised lettering, roof rack, vents, etc.?????? I can only guess at the monitary value of the trailer and its contents let alone the time to construct these pieces of gear. If PRP is in need of some coin or two, perhaps an auction, donation or raffle could be setup on site to help these folks reestablish themselves, please give a hail down to the deck. The inside modifications, even if ripped out, will leave holes that will be easy to spot, even if patched up. Your servant M'lady Jas. Hook Thank you, and everyone, for your concern. The trailer is not painted with our group name or any other customized work. We had plans for painting the group's name on the side of the trailer. We had recently upgraded from our old open trailer (with name painted on sides), to this new closed trailer. We had a contest going for the design to put on the sides. But hadn't had time to carry it out. DRAT ... that might have deterred the thieves. The contents inside the trailer had been gathered, built, and modified over the 16 years of our group's existence. But many of our group members have personal tents and props that we can bring to events. It will work out, and in the long run, may be a blessing in disguise, by giving us faster camp set ups and tear downs. --Jamaica Rose --Jamaica Rose Editor of No Quarter Given - since 1993 http://www.noquartergiven.net/ "Bringing a little pirate history into everyone's life" Find No Quarter Given ... on Facebook: facebook.com/noquartergiven ... and on Twitter: @NoQuarterGiven
Iron Bess
Good news.... The trailer has been recovered. It is currently in an impound yard and we have yet to see if the contents are still inside. Hoping for the best! Silkie McDonough
I am hoping the contents are still there. Someone probably stole it and when they looked inside were disappointed that there were not power tools in it. ...I pray.
Jamaica Rose
GOOD NEWS -- The trailer is back home, in good shape. Thanks to the Rialto Police Dept. About half of the contents are gone, but the tents, shade flies, and poles are there. Having these items back is a good thing. Getting back the tents and trailer itself represents a major investment that has returned. YAY! Cook stoves, tables, tools, jacks, and more are missing, but a lot of these items are not easily identifiable. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR INTEREST, CONCERN, and HELP.
Black Syren
I just want to know if they caught the thieves? And if so will they tell where the rest of the missing goods are? Jas. Hook
Now that the trailer is back. First - I'd get a hitch lock or some type of wheel lock for the unit. Second - I'd paint the roof top as one big jolly roger identifiable from the air. Jas. Hook "Born on an island, live on an island... the sea has always been in my blood." Jas. LadyBarbossa
Tis interesting of what was stolen. Aye, a scurvy pox on th' devils that took the pirate possessions. Liam... tis not th' first time Pirates have been a victim of thieves. Hell, m'self had one of m' prize swords stolen... from right out of m' locked vehicle. Well, Rose... sounds like whomever took those items plan to use them or sell them at the very least within their own groups of sorts. Blasted devils! ~Lady B Tempt Fate! an' toss 't all t' Hell!" Rumba Rue
I would also put the name of the group ON the SIDES of the trailer.
Jamaica Rose
I would also put the name of the group ON the SIDES of the trailer. Oh, definitely. We had plans to put the name on the sides, like the previous trailer. It just hadn't happened yet ... and then the trailer was stolen. I think everyone in the PRP agrees it is urgent we get the name put on the side of the trailer right away now. But the roof idea was very clever - then police can spot it from the air very easily. --Jamaica Rose --Jamaica Rose Editor of No Quarter Given - since 1993 http://www.noquartergiven.net/ "Bringing a little pirate history into everyone's life" Find No Quarter Given ... on Facebook: facebook.com/noquartergiven ... and on Twitter: @NoQuarterGiven
silas thatcher
a friend of mine believed in the idea that one is less likely to steal anothers' possessions when clearly marked... meaning--- too easily spotted !! wouldn't be worth the risk of being easily spotted for what may or may not be inside !! mark away !!! But do the sides first, because to be frank I don't think police spend any time looking for stolen vehicles. They usually just recover them if they identify them as stolen during the course of other duties. EDIT: Actually, probably do the front and tailgate first. That'll make it easier to identify if it is tucked between two buildings or other trailers. Edited February 4, 2010 by Matty Bottles "The time was when ships passing one another at sea backed their topsails and had a 'gam,' and on parting fired guns; but those good old days have gone. People have hardly time nowadays to speak even on the broad ocean, where news is news, and as for a salute of guns, they cannot afford the powder. There are no poetry-enshrined freighters on the sea now; it is a prosy life when we have no time to bid one another good morning." - Capt.
