Jamaica Rose Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 The Port Royal Privateers are in need of your help. On January 21st, their trailer, with ALL of their gear, tents, tarps, poles, stoves, props, tools, accessories, treasure chest, EVERYTHING the group owned to build an area to entertain the public, was stolen from it's storage place in San Bernardino. Please keep a watchful eye out for things being sold, especially in Southern California. If you have any information, contact the PRP at: prpboard@yahoo.com Info on trailer: 2006 Pace Trailer 12 Ft White closed trailer with side door and rear door and ramp License plate # 4HM2469 Vin #: 4P2FB121X6U072862 Inside modifications includes compartments built in's (however, they can be removed). We hope to get a photo of the trailer and some of the props posted here soon. Please spread the word to any living history or reenactment groups you might belong to. Thank you for any help you can offer, and at least for taking the time to read this. --Jamaica Rose P.S. I will also post this in the Thieve's Market (how appropriate) with Stynky's permission, in case any of the stolen items start coming on the market to other living historians. --Jamaica Rose Editor of No Quarter Given - since 1993 http://www.noquartergiven.net/ "Bringing a little pirate history into everyone's life" Find No Quarter Given ... on Facebook: facebook.com/noquartergiven ... and on Twitter: @NoQuarterGiven
Jamaica Rose Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 A sharp-eyed fellow pirate sent me this notice from Craigslist: http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/rvs/1566079478.html It's very close, but this is NOT our missing trailer. Our trailer is a SINGLE axle. If you want to take a look at the photo though, to see what our trailer looked like, this is pretty much it (only with a single axle.) --Jamaica Rose --Jamaica Rose Editor of No Quarter Given - since 1993 http://www.noquartergiven.net/ "Bringing a little pirate history into everyone's life" Find No Quarter Given ... on Facebook: facebook.com/noquartergiven ... and on Twitter: @NoQuarterGiven
Jas. Hook Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Jamaica Rose - Boy, does that swallow the anchor! I hope everything gets recovered. A lot of trailers are taken not for their contents but to haul leaf-blowers and lawnmowers. Unfortunately your treasured gear may be nothing more than a passing curiosity to the brigands. Your servant M'lady Jas. Hook "Born on an island, live on an island... the sea has always been in my blood." Jas. Hook "You can't direct the wind . . . but . . . you can adjust the sails." Jamaica Rose Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 Yep ... we are very aware that the thieves opened up the trailer and said "What is this SH*TE?" And left our stuff dumped somewhere. But it may still filter into local swap meets or yard sales. The trailer itself may well be in Mexico by now. Still, we will hope for the best. Here are photos of the trailer in question: http://s280.photobucket.com/albums/kk172/JamaicaRose2/Stolen%20Items/?action=view¤t=PRPTrailer1.jpg http://s280.photobucket.com/albums/kk172/JamaicaRose2/Stolen%20Items/?action=view¤t=PRPTrailer2.jpg --Jamaica Rose --Jamaica Rose Editor of No Quarter Given - since 1993 http://www.noquartergiven.net/ "Bringing a little pirate history into everyone's life" Find No Quarter Given ... on Facebook: facebook.com/noquartergiven ... and on Twitter: @NoQuarterGiven
Rumba Rue Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 OMG!!!! I am stunned by this news! I know everything pretty much that was in that trailer (since I was a member for many years)so I will keep my eyes open and be searching Craig's List here in San Diego and EBay. Concerns me because our group is about to buy a trailer, but we plan on keeping it at a member's home. I will pass on this news to the rest of our members of Pirates of Treasure Cove.
SaintOn Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 it is telling me the links to the photos are not good. Jamaica Rose Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 it is telling me the links to the photos are not good. I *think* I have fixed the links above. Here's a couple more. This first one shows the trailer partly loaded, before the wooden partitions were added. You can see some of the props: http://s280.photobucket.com/albums/kk172/JamaicaRose2/Stolen%20Items/?action=view¤t=l_d1441b435fcc46d3861fea98a5800758.jpg http://s280.photobucket.com/albums/kk172/JamaicaRose2/Stolen%20Items/?action=view¤t=l_0ae888a42bb442a6b3bfea78b30553a8.jpg --Jamaica Rose --Jamaica Rose Editor of No Quarter Given - since 1993 http://www.noquartergiven.net/ "Bringing a little pirate history into everyone's life" Find No Quarter Given ... on Facebook: facebook.com/noquartergiven ... and on Twitter: @NoQuarterGiven
Davey Dog Crusher Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I will send my sister-in-law and wife's cousin these links. She works for the schools and he works Parks & Recreation in San Bernardino. At least they can keep an eye out in case the contents were dumped. Dave
Iron Bess Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 UPDATE: The Trailer was FOUND yesterday and is in police impound out in Rialto. We should know by this afternoon if the contents are still there or what if not all is missing. Thank you for all your support and Eagle eyes! Now keep yer fingers crossed all is not lost! Will update as soon as we know. Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman!
Jamaica Rose Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 GOOD NEWS -- The trailer is back home, in good shape. Thanks to the Rialto Police Dept. About half of the contents are gone, but the tents, shade flies, and poles are there. Having these items back is a good thing. Getting back the tents and trailer itself represents a major investment that has returned. YAY! Cook stoves, tables, tools, jacks, and more are missing, but a lot of these items are not easily identifiable. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR INTEREST, CONCERN, and HELP. --Jamaica Rose --Jamaica Rose Editor of No Quarter Given - since 1993 http://www.noquartergiven.net/ "Bringing a little pirate history into everyone's life" Find No Quarter Given ... on Facebook: facebook.com/noquartergiven ... and on Twitter: @NoQuarterGiven

If they do and PRP wanted to do some sort of fund raiser to fund replinishment that loss, you can count on the Alliance of the Double Cross to support you all. If ye be needing of certain items until replacement be coming, do drop a note and we will look in our cache's to see if we can assist. Fair winds, -Greydog Why am I sharing my opinion? Because I am a special snowflake who has an opinion of such import that it must be shared and because people really care what I think!

Though, from all the discussions after the immediate loss of the trailer, it sounds like the personal possessions of our members can supplement any lost items until the group can replace them.
Quartermaster James Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Glad to hear the good news! Hope the wrassin' frassin' snood weasels that ripped you off get their just desserts!
Rumba Rue Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Good to hear you got the trailer back (GET INSURANCE!!!!) and the things that are gone can be replaced. Good thing the tent and other main stays of the group are still there - otherwise it would be tremendously costly to replace the things that were left. Note: Our group has looked into insurance for any trailer we get and one of our members has taken the time to call her insurance agent and this is the response: For $62.00 a year with a $250.00 deductible covers the trailer. If parked at a personal home, the homeowners insurance will cover the cost of the contents. If anyone in PRP is interested in talking to our gal and getting the name of the insurance company she uses, let us know. Rumba Rue

Quartermaster James Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I have kept the Pirates of Portlandia apprised of this situation. Now that the trailer has been recovered, I have been asked to present that if a list of missing items were presented we would be happy to see if replacements might be available in our members' garages.
Rumba Rue Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 The price quote is from the Auto Club and is based on the length of the trailer. Our group is looking into a 6 or 8 ft. trailer which should be cheaper.
