Lily Alexander Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 (edited) There, there, John. It's going to be alright. You will have an awesome time. There is so much to see and do in Key West. No matter if they are being a pirate or not, they will enjoy their time there. Mission Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 It's not very hard to have a good time in Key West without being dressed like a pirate. But with... Well! Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."
William Brand Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 It's not going to be alright, John. You might get shot at by pirate hunters, or taken prisoner by redcoats. You could find yourself standing around in a tent encampment during a tornado warning. You might have to eat with your fingers... ...wait...those are all good things. PIP is like a huge party with the most laid back people on the planet. If you can't have a good time, you are trying not to. You'll have so much fun you'll consider moving there. Ask Fayma.
Capt. Sterling Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 NEVER listen when any one say "there, there John it will be all right..." Trust me, I know, but nevertheless...you will both have a grand time of it if you make the trip. "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/
DropDead Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Aye! We had the perfect storm hit the encampment the last year.
hurricane Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 If I recall it was a Hurricane force storm... never know when they will pop up. RedJessi Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that I Will be unable to attend this year. Two of my dear friends are tying a totally different kind of knot and they have scheduled the bachelorette festivities for the weekend of Dec 4. I hope that next year is kinder and that I get to see my pirate friends at different events in the course of the year.
William Brand Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 Drat. I had hoped not to lose anyone in the final weeks before the event. I'm sorry that you can't make it, but I hope that you have a great time at the event.

Wi' no disrespectin o' yer moniker, Hurricane. One o' th best parts o' this Gatherin' o' fine folk is when we BURN THE COLORS WHAT REPRESENTS THE STORM OF HURRICANE STRENGTH BE APON WE! We'uns whot don't abide ashore fear those flags as much as the flag of any country nor pirate hunter! Fer all the Killicks and springlines or hawsers t' the wharf is but a piece o' twine if'n ye blows t' the fullest o' strength. Edited November 8, 2010 by capn'rob
hurricane Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Aye, I do agree with the yer statement, sir. 'tis one of the best times to bid farewell to the season that sends those dreaded winds our way. 'course, I remember the year we were burning the flag as Oscar was whirling around in the seas just offshore. We almost had an unwelcomed guest. -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. capn'rob Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Aye,and t'is truth indeed. these storms care not for calendars nor flags! They get to their spinning, the glass falls as if a leak was sprung and it gets right ugly! Well Sir, here's to a storm free week! All the Best t' ye and see you soon, Dutch
Lily Alexander Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 As you all know, we are going to be a little cozy in the Fort this year. If you have already registered but can no longer attend, PLEASE let us know so we can open up some space in the encampment. If you're gonna give me a headache, please bring me an aspirin! http://www.forttaylorpyrates.com/
jaded Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Maties I would like to know to whom should I speak with in order for me to be a part of shootin of the cannons this year? I believe this is something that I would like to do fer I have not done as of yet. ?????????
Lily Alexander Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Jaded, there are a lot of folks bringing cannons down so I'm sure you'll get an opportunity. Crudbeard will be running cannon drills for everyone after the first safety inspection meeting on Fri morning. You might want to bring a pair of slops instead of petticotes. It's a little safer. If you're gonna give me a headache, please bring me an aspirin! http://www.forttaylorpyrates.com/
Mary Diamond Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Just a quick note - double pneumonia and bronchitis, losing 9 pounds in a week, means the Merchant and dear Mark Longshanks will not be in attendance this year, for the first in many. Wishing you all a Wonderful PiP-mas - YHS, Mary Diamond Oooh, shiny!
