Muster of the Mercury

William Brand

Recommended Posts

In the interest of finding and meeting with fellow crew members around the globe, I offer this Muster thread. I will maintain it as a simple list of names and towns of those crewmates who have numbered themselves among us. Former members of the crew may also list themselves if they wish and I'll keep that list here as well. Just to start things off, I use the name William Brand at events, though the nickname Red Wake is attached to my Pub name. I live nowhere near the ocean in a high mountain valley in the city of Logan, Utah and I serve regularly as the Quartermaster of the Mercury

Names shall be listed alphabetically by persona surname.

Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."

Mark and Jennie Gist. (Don't you read the surgeon's journals? ;) )

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

J/k. ;) I actually have to take people's business cards (if they have them) or write names down or (most likely) ask Michael for people's names just so's I can get them right...or at all. You meet someone interesting at an event and think "I'll remember that!" and then five minutes later you meet another someone interesting and think "I'll remember that!", completely and utterly blocking out the first person's name and then you meet another someone interesting...etc. The surgeon's journals are as much a memory aid as they are anything. Plus it's fascinating to go back and re-read them and realize how much great stuff happened that I'd forgotten.

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

Then William, I suppose that I must be considered former crew member because I am now a crew member of the Archangle. The Mercury was the first crew to take me in and I remain loyal to the crew & its officers. ...just don't tell the pirate hunters. :P

I might be blind, but I can read ye know....

"I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers
