Rumba Rue
Yes it's that time of year when we get all funny and creepy and travel through Mission's haunted house of chills and thrills. May you all have a safe Samhain and Halloween! Rumba Rue
Mission
Moi? My Hallowe'en routine is to go over to the house of my friends' John & Ellen and hang out on the porch, drinking wine, eating pizza, handing out candy, listening to John's "scary" music and counting the number of kids with Star Wars costumes on. Then I toddle down to the Jaycee Haunted House (which is almost always within walking distance of John's house) and see how the old girl held up. I actually haven't done an HH room in two years, though. I created Bucky for PiP in 2008 and Becky for PiP in 2009 and that was enough prop-building for those years. Now next year it's probably going to be a scarecrow prop for...well, I don't know what for. I've just had this idea for a really creepy scarecrow using a skeleton (what else?) for many years. I want to make sure I build it before I completely lose interest in hallowe'en prop-building. I'd say more, but that would be giving my really cool central idea for this thing away. Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

Dueller
Myself and Contessa are going to see these guys this evening http://pyrates.co.uk/ in Camden, London. Camden is the site of a famous market, very trendy amongst the Goth/Emo types and great place to get adaptable pirate outfits. to get an idea, use google images and type Camden market. Just looked at the pyrates gig list and they are playing Nola Pyrate week, New Orleans next year Edited October 31, 2009 by Dueller Macaroni = Inventor of the pasta wireless. Mission
When I was in England a few years ago, I met up with some net friends and they told me that trick-or-treating didn't really exist in England before E.T. came out. (Don't know if that's true or not, but still: ) Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" (Don't know if that's true or not, but still: ) It's only just catching on here. Trick or treating has been hijacked by teenagers who just want to go out and throw eggs. It is starting to get more popular and the shopps are catering for costumes a lot better than they were so hopefully it will become more like America. I just needed an excuse for a party and saw the pirates were playing at the Pirate Castle, Camden which is about an hour from where i live. Macaroni = Inventor of the pasta wireless. Capn Bob
I remember one Halloween when we were stationed in Germany, and since my sister was doing teaching in Hawaii, my mother thought it a nifty idea to dress me as...o, the humiliation...a hula girl. Me *own* mivver, look'ee, making me cross-dress! And at the innocent age of 10 (I think...it's been so long ago...) And to make matters worse, she doesn't even remember doing it! No, I don't have photos. I know the way you lot think, and ye can't be blackmailin' me over wi' out photos. Damn, thats sharp!
