Commodore Swab
What are your plans for our little fest here in Key Largo? Maybe we can get together?
hurricane
We are anchoring the children's event at the Bayside Grille there. We will be doing a period encampment, games for the kiddies, cannon and gun demos and then a music show. It all day on that Saturday, the 24th on the grounds there, between the restaurant. The demos are out at the "beach"/docks. - Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. I intend to set sail for Ft Myers Saturday, say hello if ya spot me. Just heard the Bone Island Buccaneers won't be there this year, I shall miss seeing them there. hurricane
Would you mind some company there, perhaps we can help out and bring 1 quite possibly 2 small bronze cannon as well as some other arms. Cannons are always welcome as are arms. We will be there Friday around 2 and will be setting up then if you want to stop by. We're staying on the property so we'll be around all evening as well. We expecting 100 or more kids,so the more booms the better! Our main cannoneer is out of commission because of an automobile accident and can't work our gun. -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. Commodore Swab
We just got home from Ft Myers. The cannon fired beautifully as did the new blunderbuss. Hurricane- I met another cannoneer at Ft Myers whom I trust and has a good cannon who might be coming to the fest here. If so he may be bringing 2 cannons (1.5 inch bores), is there any chance we can get some money for powder or just powder?
hurricane
What kind of powder do you shoot? And how much is it? If I have it in stock, I can bring some. If it isn't I can reimburse, no problem. Thanks for helping us out, sir!
My cannon cannon uses FF and in a pinch I can get away with FFF using slightly smaller charges. The small arms use FFF, My friend who may bring his cannon uses FF. If I can convince the Viceroy to bring out one of his mortars they use F and at 3+ ounces per charge you can go thru some powder mighty fast. The only powder we put in our guns is GOEX.
