Hawkyns
That's a good question. I've always used Dr Bronner's when I've been backpacking and camping. Soap/shampoo/laundry detergent all in one. Recommended by leave-no-trace backpacking organisations and certified USDA Organic. But no green seal. How sticky are they going to be about this? Fayma Callahan
Ahoy folks, I will be meeting with David (Park Manager) tonight, and will pose the question regarding the "green seal" issues. I told him I could not find any down here, and was hopeful that the mainland folks would be more able to do so. Never fear, we can look at you products and if they "don't pass muster", and we have found that Kimberly Clark manufactures a body wash that meets his standard, and we will have several gallons of it available for use. Thanks to all who have helped to stay on top of these things!! Ack...gotta find that Florida Park Decoder Ring.... Silkie McDonough
I have used Dr Bronner's for years also. Good stuff that, and many scents. The peppermint leaves a tingly feeling and cools in hot weather (briefly). lol

Capt. Sterling
Latest update from Fayma via email today (Nov. 11) Bring firewood, hammocks are ok (take down in daytime), bring any extra rope you can, showers are good, soap issue pending, braziers for one and all are good, any type will be fine, in modern camping the colemans work too. Spike
As for the soap issue. We went back and forth with the Park on the green "seal" products they provided. They were all commercial and the manufacturer, Kimberly Clark, does not ship directly, but goes through their own vendor list. After a many conversations with the Fort and an EXCELLENT suggestion from this Pub we have an alternative. The Park approved products are Bronner USDA approved products organic PLEASE SEE HERE: http://www.drbronner.com/ Some of you are very familiar with the product. We have ordered some Bronner body wash, as well as shampoo from this approved supplier, so will have some on hand if folks are unable to find the product. However, the site has a great list, you can order it online, and it can be found in retail outlets. I am currently looking for a local source to provide the same product, if one is available here in the Keys, and will post it here. Thanks, Spike

Mary Diamond
I have previously purchased large 32oz. size and small travel sized Dr. Bronners from the Target (www.target.com) in the Chicago area (though they have stores all over the country, inc. 2 in Miami). Best to call to make sure they have it in stock, I have found it located in the Cosmetics and Pharmacy area. Oooh, shiny!

callenish gunner
Eucalyptus has always been my favourite ...and it only takes a few drops to wash your body and maybe double that as shampoo. The "18 in 1" liquid castile soap. is great for just about everything. From baby's butts to fresh fruits and veggies, this stuff has been a mainstay of the natural crowd for decades; a pint lasts me about 3 months of showers. Kate Souris
I also found this stuff at our local Target store. I checked the website, and then to see if they had it in store and Target carries all of them at all of their local stores.
