Christine
The Disney Expo that's been going on here in California since Thursday and through Sunday announced there will be a 4th Pirates movie titled "On Stranger Tides" Due out Summer of 2011. Johnny Depp showed up in full Jack costume. I knew there would be a 4th movie, no way would Disney stop at 3. Here's the article on it: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2009/09/johnny-depp-jack-sparrow-disney-costume-.html

Dorian Lasseter
On September 11, 2009, Disney announced that in the summer of 2011, the fourth installment in its wildly popular Pirates of the Caribbean movie series will be subtitled On Stranger Tides. It is fueling speculation that the movie will follow the plot of Tim Powers' novel by the same name, with Jack Sparrow replacing Jack Shandy as the main character. Quartermaster James
I knew there would be a 4th movie, no way would Disney stop at 3. Four, of course, being associated with death in some cultures...

It certainly has the advantage of being a better story than Pirates 2 or 3. Well... maybe equal to 3. I know many people in the gaming community to think the story is "all that" but I found it missed a few beats. Probably due to the fact that I knew more about the period than the author, thus some things didn't ring true. But most of that stuff could probably be glossed over in a movie. Soooooo... if nothing else, at least it has a good twist ending. My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together. Ransom
My wish for the forth one, would be that they return to the feeling and minimal CGI of the first movie — a story which was funny and only had cursed pyrates. By movie three, the CGI had become the main reason for the movies, and the story got lost in the maelstrom. I guess I'm afraid PotC IV will end up like the fourth Indiana Jones movie, which was really terrible. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... Raphael Misson
I just want them to bring back pirate skeletons and get rid of the fish people. (However, I'll bet they take it in a different direction if they can do it (by which I mean, if the studio doesn't force them to follow the rut worn by the previous movies.) “We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong.
