Good news! One of the two unpublished books by the late Michael Crichton is a very well received pirate novel. Details below from Time Magazine.

When Michael Crichton died last fall, he left behind two unpublished novels. The first of them to come to light is Pirate Latitudes, set in 1665, a time when England owned Jamaica and Spain very badly wanted to own Jamaica. The island's governor sends a pirate, Edward Hunter, to take down a Spanish galleon loaded with treasure. Film rights have already been snapped up by Steven Spielberg and David Koepp, the team that produced a little movie based on another Crichton novel — called Jurassic Park.

Yeah, that will be interesting. We were actually talking about last week or so ago in this thread.
