Jack Roberts Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Here they are. They are a mix of hand sewn and hidden machine sewn seams. With the rest of the kit. Some close ups of the details. Haha, I just saw I misspelled Trousers! LOL too funny. Edited September 7, 2009 by Jack Roberts
Fionntan Murtaugh Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I thought trousers were longer and breeches were shorter ...knee breeches ...hmmm ...I dunno nothin.
Jack Roberts Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 They are a little high but it sits well below the knee.
Fionntan Murtaugh Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 So that makes them trousers? hmmm
Jack Roberts Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 The Capt'n said that they should be mid-calf.
theM.A.dDogge Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 lookin good....er.....i mean that in the most manliest way possible... where did ya get the fabric?...was lookin for somethin similar for a while
Capt. Sterling Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 The Capt'n said that they should be mid-calf. Um...I think ye got that backwards.... "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/
Jack Roberts Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 WOT!!!! Son of a bi****. Say it isn't so.....
Capt. Sterling Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Sorry... tis so... turn em into breeches... opened kneed ones would do fine..
Jack Roberts Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 I've cut them already and hemmed them. They would have been perfect before I cut them. Now I'm pissed. (Not at you Capt'n) (Runs around the house cursing.) Madogge I found the fabric at Jo Ann about a year ago. Check out Stripey Fabric
Jack Roberts Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 ??? Open kneed? You have any pictures so I can figure out what to do. Or is it just like it sounds. I would think I would want them shorter and no buttons on the sides.
Capt. Sterling Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 ROTDLMA.... right then, sorry, the image of you running around the house cursing just made my day... What's wrong with striped breeches? "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/
Jack Roberts Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Ohh nothing it's just not what I was trying to make. So Open-kneed breeches same as breeches?
Capt. Sterling Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 (edited) ON second thought... just leave em as is... after going back and rereading Kass's answer on open knee breeches... these are fine. (Not at you Capt'n) (Runs around the house cursing.) Madogge I found the fabric at Jo Ann about a year ago. Check out Stripey Fabric You also may want to check out the striped linen "LMTS-NB-60" at Periodfabric.com. The stripes patterns is so similar to what jack used, I almost thought I was seeing him in my breeches!
Jack Roberts Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 ON second thought... just leave em as is... after going back and rereading Kass's answer on open knee breeches... these are fine. I just saw this reply. So they'll be just fine as they look in the photos? Where's the "reply" I would love too read myself also.
Capt. Sterling Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Over in one of the "are slops pc" type threads in Twill...
