Captain Synn Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Ahoy mates! Yer own Commodore “WeirdBeard” here… So as th’ summer wanes, an’ has been dull as dirt fer me, I decided t’ gather a few of my Pirate friends t’ go an’ do somethin’ fun b’fore it were gone... I needed myself some Arrr an’ Arrr…… I did a quick search on this here web thing’s “Google” t’ aid me in findin’ somethin’ reasonably local an’ it came up with “Pirate’s Cove Adventure Miniature Golf” in South Yarrrmouth, Cape Cod ( www.piratescove.net )… After I laughed an’ asked myself if this was fer real I went t’ their web site, got information, an’ called ‘em down there t’ see if a hand full of costumed pirates over actin’ with cameras in hand would be somethin’ they might enjoy or object t’… Well, they loved th’ idea… So I sent out th’ invites t’ fer “Pirate’s Day Out at Pirate’s Cove”… A piratically good time was had by all! Pirate's Cove LOVED us! We are Pirates, after all, so we decided t’ do things our own way… There were, of course, arguments over who’d go first at every hole… I took a rather aggressive stance on collectin’ tolls on one of th’ bridges… Jack thought this is where they kept ‘em so he barged right in… I decided t’ liberate a few honest souls… We talked th’ owner int’ a more… direct approach in separatin’ patrons from their money… I attempted t’ help redecorate… An’ then I commandeered their ship… This, of course, ended us up in a spot of trouble… I blame Jack fer this… But I got my revenge… We only played through one of th’ two courses and wandered through th’ other taking pictures and playing with th’ patrons. We ended up at the helm of the ship on th’ "Black Beard's Challenge" course (th’ ship is hole #2) for almost an hour... just hanging out up there... we made th’ helm our stage and played off of th’ patrons and took photos with ‘em... Everyone just assumed we were part of th’ mini golf park... I am rather impressed with th’ level of detail that went into th’ courses... up and down hills, multi-level water falls, several caverns with animatronics, bridges, th’ ships, props, an’ music... it were very cool... better than any of th’ other mini golf parks near by... No Disney t’ be sure... but really well done and entertainin’ with plaques about actual pirates at each hole... I didn't expect educational t’ be an adjective I would be unpacking from this adventure... T’ top it off, th’ shop now carries some of my own “NyghtCraft” Pirate Leather goods… By only part way through th’ first golf round I stopped callin’ it "Pirate's Day Out" an’ started referrin’ t’ it as th’ "First Annual Pirate's Day Out at Pirate's Cove"... So now I can't help but start thinking about next year... If ye want t’ be lookin’ at more images from this grand day out ye can find ‘em here; (far more images t’ be added as I crop and edit them...) Captain Synn Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) Thank ye Rumba... Thought it'd be more entertainin' that way than "Me and some friends went mini golfing in garb... Here are pics..."... I think I got across how much goofball fun we all had... Probably th' most humorous part of th' whole deal was that th' owner of th' place, Bob Love, was th' Vice Principal of th' Jr. High I went t' waaaay back at th' beginnin' of th' 80's... Hadn't seen him since... and some how he remembered me... Lookin' forward t' headin' back t' the Cove!
