Ben Fridley
Hello, I have made many customized action figures over the last few years. While I have made a number of 12" action figures - mostly Captain America related, I have made a couple of 6" figures - one based on a MR Incredible toy, and the other on a WWE wrestling figure. I am pondering the possibility of creating Pirate action figures based on people's photos of themselves (or photos I would take). I am more than happy to send anybody examples of my work - I have to get some shots of my pirate figures. Please feel free to send me a request to see some of what I have made. My e-mail address is : dandycat@wowway.com I also would like to get some opinions on what folks would be interested in paying for an action figure based on themself in all of their Pirate regalia. Thanks! Ben Fridley (actually Dan Needham)

Kate Souris
I've personally seen his work and it's very, very good. I love the pirate that he did out of the WWE figure that lives at his Brother in law's house....it's very cool. And the steampunk weapons out of squirt guns too. Awesome! I do have to get some photos taken. I have another pirate figure I am thinking of taking to Paynetown to donate to the non auction-auction. That should drum up some interest. Thank you for the goos word!!! Jennie, Mark and I will be driving to Paynetown on Thursday afternoon (the 6th). It is really a nice event, with nice people in a great setting...ok so it isn't the Atlantic...but fun anyway!
Jib
Ben, Are those Mego-like bodies you are using?
Ben Fridley
Jib, The figure I used for my Pirate was bought at a Big Lots store for 5.00.He is about 6" tall. I usually crazy glue the joints into the desired pose, and then attach the figure to a base using small screws which go through the base into the legs of the figure. This way I can work on the figure, holding it by the base. The clothing is made from an air drying clay material which can me molded, sanded and painted. I have made a number of 12" figures, but frankly I have run out of room to display them!I now stay with mainly 6" figures. I have made a Pirate from a MR Incredible superhero toy. I will post him as soon as I get a photo of him. I make these figures while I watch TV...doing this keeps my eating while watching TV to a minimum! Thanks for your interest!
