Red Cat Jenny
Jamestown and Bermuda: Virginia Company Colonies. Bermuda, settled in 1609 as the result of a shipwreck that inspired Shakespeare’s The Tempest, is the focus of a 400th-anniversary exhibition that also explores governmental, religious and trade connections between England’s second permanent colony in the New World and its first – Jamestown, Virginia, founded in 1607. The exhibition illuminates Bermuda’s unique character: strategic location and historic stone forts; extraordinary importance of sports and recreation; and land and seascapes immortalized by internationally renowned artists, leading to Bermuda’s rise in the 20th century as a premier travel destination. Did anyone catch the Tall ships this year? Last port was Boston last week. But Bermuda had their 400th anniversary this year. http://www.tallshipsbermuda.com/ Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.... Her reputation was her livelihood. I'm a pirate, love. Tartan Jack
I saw the ships as they left Charleston, SC. It was more by luck than plan. We had planned a family vacation there and arrived the day they were leaving and went to the beach to see them go. If I had realized it was that weekend, I would have come earlier!
