Jamaica Rose
HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY ERROL Current mood:Roguish & Sea Hawkish HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY ERROL ERROL FLYNN was born on June 20, 1909, in Tasmania, Australia. Today is his 100th BIRTHDAY! Happy 100th Birthday Errol Flynn Plan an Errol Flynn movie marathon. He starred in over 60 movies, so you have a lot to chose from. (I'm going to watch "Captain Blood", "The Sea Hawk", "Against All Flags", and "The Adventures of Don Juan".) You can watch Errol star as Fletcher Christian in his VERY FIRST movie, "In the Wake of the Bounty" (1933) here: http://www.blinkx.com/video/in-the-wake-of...a-XHCreCBikOAZg Interesting Trivia: Errol Flynn was related maternally to one of the Bounty crew members (but probably not Christian himself, as has been reported in some accounts)! For your summer reading, you could get his autobiography "My Wicked, Wicked Ways" (or watch the film version of it). Errol Flynn died an early death on Oct. 14, 1959, of a heart attack, at age 50. Imagine the movies he could have made if he had lived until his 100th birthday. I had more fun with Errol than everybody else put together…It was never ending fun." -- David Niven, friend and actor "He was all the heroes in one magnificent, sexy, animal package. I just wish we had someone around today half as good as Flynn." -- Jack L. callenish gunner
He was always one of my heroes growing up as a lad. He was one of the major reasons I had studied acting and stage combat for over 10 years. In 1967 I got a shard of glass through my earlobe and as a bit of a lark I put an earring through it. A few months later I went home to Scotland and when my Grandmother saw me and my pierced ear she said "Oh don't you just look like Errol Flynn, so handsome." It's been in my ear ever since. I had always wanted to take up where he had left off. I'll lift a glass with you lad to the man we wanted to be.
