William Brand Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 Alchemical symbol for Mercury......Property brand for Mercury equipment? Interesting that you should mention it. We discussed that very thing when we were first talking about the Mercury flag in another thread. We even discussed it as a bale mark, but we never came to any conclusions on it.

Capt. Sterling Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 AND some place else as I recall.... "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/
William Brand Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 Captain Sterling is correct. It did reside in at least two other places. I wrapped myself up in the flag to keep warm the first night on the ramparts, and several night after. It was also safely and graciously sheltered by the crew of the Archangel for a time.
Capt. Sterling Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 It was also safely and graciously sheltered by the crew of the Archangel for a time. Oh aye, that it was.... Dorian Lasseter Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 It was also safely and graciously sheltered by the crew of the Archangel for a time. Oh aye, that it was.... That reminds me... I didn't see the Archangel's flag about at FTPI... Was it there? Truly, D. Capt. Sterling Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Hell no and it won't be until we make a proper one...
William Brand Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 Hell no and it won't be until we make a proper one... I look forward to that. It's nice to see that with all of the kit improving across the board, flags, jacks, pendants and the like are all improving right along with it. There were some very nice pirate flags and privateer jacks at the events this year. We're getting more and more colors on each side of the line and they look great in pictures and as presentation pieces for the public.
michaelsbagley Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 While it didn't come out at the event (Jolly Rogers are a later period thing, and Searle's is an early period event), we did hoist the colours as we were packing up to head home Sunday morning from St. Augustine.
