Silkie McDonough Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Very cool. Now, as seen on the first one paint lets the wood grain through. Any ideas what you will do to correct that?

callenish gunner Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Sanded well with 2 coats of sanding sealer and three coats of good quality exterior matte black enamel w/400 grit in between coats and it should look like a good quality iron gun accented with a small amount of "rub-n-buff" silver

Hi Silas, I'm always thinking high prices but somehow that just don't fly, At the moment PM me for price. BUT WAIT THERE"S MORE, sorry, too many infomercials .... I haven't built a carriage yet, ideas still wanderin' round lost in me skull. I do like your idea for the unfinished and the plans for the DIY type, and you'd be able to pick your own lumber for the carriage. Commodore Swab Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 One of my current projects, the barrel is already made and will be cast (lost wax) when the viceroy gets back in bronze. The entire piece is about the length of a heavy dragoon and is taken from original drawings/demensions. As for a lock I was hoping to get a miquelet but a normal sized pistol lock will fit beautifully. Its big brother also has the wax work done for the barrel and has a barrel that is about 18 inches long. Im planning on having both of these finished for PiP along with a couple other designs.
sutlerjon Posted May 19, 2009 Author Posted May 19, 2009 I didn't like the 1st one, so I'm reworkin' it, I'm tryin' fer the swivel gun in a pic Dorian Lassiter posted in the Me needs a gun thread that Dutch started.
