Capt. Sterling
Sorry for the delay, another bloody migraine... Jack, is the latest version somewhat to scale? if so can we try to get the Souris out of the corner and a bit more away from the street? Capt. Sterling
We have a wedge, not a wall. Does that help? I dunno where the wall tent came from. Mark G. has that pavillion thing and if the other set of friends comes, they will have a wedge also. I have a couple of spare wedge tent if they are needed. Mark Mark if you don't mind dragging the extra along, I'm sure we can put them to use... Cheeky Actress
You want to steal Pern, yer on yer own... I don't want him... especially since we can't do a hanging in Hampton. I was hoping that we could do a 'Reggie Killingsworth' on him. Start the fireworks off right with a big flaming barrel! michaelsbagley
First off, would it be acceptable for the pressed men and women (basically the Scioto Pirates) to join you guys and gals for your meals? We will happily contribute and materials, time and efforts that we can. It will be Mark, Jennie, Trish, Shannon, Kate (my wife) and I joining you. Secondly, when do we have to break camp and get out of Dodge? Is a Sunday departure neccessary? Or is an early Monday departure an option? I don't mean to be pushy, but the sooner we have answers the better, we are getting into the nitty gritty of organizing ourselves for this trip. Cheers! Capt. Sterling
Aye of course... the oatmeal will be a good starter... do need to know if you will be joining us for dinner on Friday as most of us are NOT going to the ball and are doing a meal instead.... Blackbeard's is supplying lunch on Saturday and Sunday as well as Saturday evening meal... they are also now suppling ice, water and Gatorade...I will let you know what contributions you can make to keep a fair balance between them providing and them eating... As to packing up on Monday... I am assuming that will be all right since they allowed it last year, but I will double check...as I am planning to leave Monday morning.... As of now, it looks like we will be rolling into Hampton mid day on Friday (noonish +/- and hour or so), so joining the rest of you for dinner would be nice, as we at least Kate and I are not planning on the ball, I haven;t heard from Mark and Jennie about their decision regarding the ball yet, and I have yet to talk to Trish and Shannon abotu it. Thanks for the quick response and updated info!

Cap'nPern
You're most welcome Outstanding planning. One update to be made is the bushes shown around the edges have been removed. Sorry for the late notice. I will try to get measurements for you on Saturday.
Silkie McDonough
so, basically we are exposed on all sides and playing beside traffic. Hmmm ...will we at least be roped off? Is there any chance we can have a few vehicles parked at the curb to keep any drunk drivers from running into the camp?
Cheeky Actress
...gee, the way they had the 'drynk police' out last year...I find that may not be a problem, Silkie. But I do like the 'rope off' idea. Member of "The Forsaken"
Jack Roberts
Thanks Pern! I'll be waiting on your measurements. And I just got a copy of CAD. Now I must learn how to use it. Roping us off will be nice.
Capt. Sterling
Grand, we've gone from bushes, to no bushes and now trees..Without the bushes perhaps the usable space is actually longer ?? Aye I would like the camp roped off completely with some sort of gate just like the pirate camp will have....without bushes we will need some sort of stakes to drive into the ground and hold the rope... dang, not at all happy... without some sort of barrier, you lot will never get a break as some ped will always be in the camp...so we need to sort this out..but our crewe always makes things work... And the "drynks police", as you call them, do not control the bar scene, or anyone driving through town. Odds of their being such an accident are extremely high, but the bushes would have been that much nicer being so close to the street, including controlling rubbish and the foot traffic... oh well shall have to put the marines on guard duty, they are already becoming an asset. Mr. O'Keeffe will be in town on Tuesday, he will get you the measurements as Pern will most likely have his hands full... and Mr. Roberts, did ye get my message about the extra ten by twenty foot tent? Capt. Sterling
Jack, Dutch just called. We actually gain about six extra feet all the way round since the bushes have been removed. He is also checking into purchasing stakes for roping off the camp and speaking to the police about parking our own vehicles along the street edge during the entire festival which will help keep that side of the camp safe... we have two drains to work around, one being just about where the powder magazine is going which will not be a problem...if the second drain poses a problem for walking, we will place cargo or something on it, so folks aren't tripping over it.... also he is looking into possibly disconnecting the lamp post in the middle of the camp as well... so far so good. Thanks Dutch, we will make this work... Edited May 30, 2009 by Capt. Lily Alexander
On to a different subject. Friday night dinner. The beef stew is done. Yippee. If anyone would like to pick up about 6 loaves of Italian or French bread and some butter on the way down, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone would like to get some cheeses or other munchie stuff to go with dinner, that would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Cheeky Actress
I will be happy to contribute to dinner...perhaps there is a store 'not too far' from the camp site? Seeing that I am without a car, I am unable to make this run by myself. Perhaps we can discuss more on this come Friday? Great one more tent? Ok, now that I've got CAD program running I need to start to input the dimensions of this stuff and get a real accurate look at what we are up against. For measurements of the space I'm going off of google earth but if we can get something sooner that would be great. O'Keefe if you can get me those measurements Asap on tuesday I should be able to adjust stuff before I get driving. Sorry for my delay I'm 6 hours ahead of most of you. So I'm not seeing the evening posts. Should be back home on Monday.
Jack Roberts
Ok version 6 is up for review. I know it needs work. Capt'n let me know whose tent the 10'x20' and I'll add it in. Thanks
Capt. Sterling
10' x 20' tent belongs to a group of marines that will be joining us for the festival...
