Guest
You are shipwrecked on an island in the Caribbean after a storm sinks your ship. 1. My Ditty bag (It's almost a mini survival kit... with a pocket knife, scissors, needles and thread, awls and a sharpening stone...) 1a. if the ditty bag is "cheating", then I'd take my belt knife. 2. A Boarding Axe (it can be used as a weapon or a tool, I figgure it's more useful than a machete or cutlass) 3. My Doglock with powder and ball. So I can hunt, I may eventually run out of ammo, but I can also use the flint from the lock to start fires until I find another glassy/hard rock to use. With a knife and ax, I can make shelter, improvise containers (a coconut bowl... ) and make traps to catch food. (Too bad I don't have a flask of rum in my ditty bag...) Heck, using fire and the ax, I could even make a dugout canoe.....
gunner Gordon
Why does everyone want to take canvas? If it is for shelter a tiki is easy enough to build, if its for collecting rain water well you can direct wain water by using palms easy enough as well. clothing type protection, easier to move than palms, thread from cloth to sew or tie, bandage for wounds, signal etc. the further away from Scotland ye roam, the more Scottish ye become
