1stMate Matt
Some time ago, I was approached to make a ship's surgeon knife with this similar design. I never made that knife and I dont even remember who the customer was. The spirit of that design lives on in this knife. This is a simple forged knife that is left almost 1/2" on the spine. The tip is quite thin allowing for precise cuts and the middle of the blade is almost a wedge alowing for easy limb removal. Here you can see the overall integral design. Here you can see the damascus pattern. Here is a picture in hand with a shot of the spine at the bottem. Here you can see the point. Nothing fancy. I thought I would share this with you all. It would serve as a nice knife to anyone not just a surgeon. I made this for my father for Xmas. -1st Mate of Pirates Magazine -Bladesmith/Owner of That Works Studio http://youtube.com/thatworks thatworks.shop
j8ksdad
Sweet! I'll eat when I'm hungry. I'll drink when I'm dry. If the hard times don't kill me I'll lay down and die. Rye whiskey! Rye whiskey! Rye whiskey I cry. If you don't give me rye whiskey, I surely will die.
Sjöröveren
I don't recall ever seeing any surgical instrument with quite that design before, but MAN OH MAN what a beautiful blade! You are a master, sir! the Fool's Gold Pirates
1stMate Matt
I guess you would have to hold this one to get the surgical feel. It's quite the cleaver. -1st Mate of Pirates Magazine -Bladesmith/Owner of That Works Studio http://youtube.com/thatworks thatworks.shop
