Ransom Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Very good work. Wish I knew more about how to do computer art. It's all a mystery to me. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott. Patrick Hand Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 That's really good... I've never had the chance to mess with a digital tablet... I still do everything in pen and ink, then scan it... then paint and fix it in Photoshop.... Hey... encourage him to keep at it....
Capt Thighbiter Posted February 12, 2009 Author Posted February 12, 2009 Thanks folks. Patrick, you should see what this kid can do with a pencil and paper - it's almost f-ing scary, like a fine grain photograph. He did a study of Jimi Hendrix a few years ago that I have framed - visitors aways ask where I got the photo from. If he gets the same skill level on the digital pad as he has on paper - watch out! Blackbead Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 El Capitan! Please let him know that the group that put out Raising Black Flags is planning on doing two more books before the year is out - another pirate anthology and a scifi/fantasy anthology. I'd love to have him submit some artwork for inclusion in the book! It would cost him nothing, he would keep the copyrights, and while it might not make him rich it sure is nice to walk into an interview with a published, International Standard Book Numbered book with your name on it! If he is at all interested, drop me a line at blackbeads_tc@yahoo.com.
