I was down in Key West this weekend, and sunday morning I got up early, pirated Captain Spike's scooter and headed down to the fort. It was a beautiful morning but I had the place entirely to myself not another soul at the fort or at the camp, probably because it was very windy and the sea was very rough. In my minds eye it's always FTPFPIP at the fort, so It seemed kinda like a skeleton, very surreal. I thought about this thread as I stood atop the fort looking over our empty playground and made a silent wish that all your desires there would come to pass. I didn't see any ghosts or have any visions that I couldn't explain, however at the moment I was thinking this a huge gust of wind blew through the fort causing the gun ports to howl loudly and for just a moment I swear it sounded like the lonesome old fort clearly groaned "Bring 'em", "BRING 'EM" And I looked out at the Disney cruise ship ported out there thinking "wouldent it be great if I could just go pick everyone up and drop em off here" and my inner pirate wondered just how far I could get her armed only with a flintlock? Then a new vision appeared in my head of the local police escorting me off the ship, handcuffed, in garb, and in the crowd that had gathered, there was Robbie "I KNOW YOOOOOOU YOUR IN TROOOOUBLE" and decided breakfast would be better anywhere than in jail. So although I cant come and pick everyone up, I wanted you to know, the fort is very lonley for you all, and is howling for your return, as am I.

This made me miss PiP more than anything has yet. I'd like to think it's mutual...that the memories of that place need us as much as we need them.

If you were thinking of us, then we were there with you darlin'.

BTW, I was cleaning my gun after the Baltimore event and came across a very special note that made me think of you. I will cherish it always. B)

My two things I haven't done at FTPF/PIP:

Be on a cannon crew

Swim in the ocean

You KNOW I thought of you.... standing out at your campsite, watching whitecaps and huge waves crashing onto the rocks with 40+ MPH wind gusts. Thinking, it's much better in the winter when the weather calms down, that way nobody has to chase their tent down the beach.

BTW Rusty has yet to clean her gun...... ever.

You are welcome to crew on any cannon I am on!

And then I'll throw you in the ocean. LOL!

This will be my first year but I'd like too:

1. Fire a cannon/flintlock or make something go boom.

2. Meet as many pub members as possible.

3. Have fun and try to enjoy everything.

Probably from Maddogge's "Portuguese Punch" only real pirates drink! (I guess I'm not a real pirate cause I won't drink it. :P I'm more of a pirate hunter anyways. :D )

Just turn out for the big group picture and you'll meet several dozen at the very least. Which reminds me, I have a really good idea for this year's picture, as far as getting a large group and as many names as possible.

I nominate cousin Robbie as the official photograph rounder upper. If he starts now maybe he can make name tags for every one.

Yeah, he's going to keep us in suspense. Probably make each of us wear funny hats to tell us apart.

Like that will work, Stynky will re-arrange all the hats on everyone so we will all be confused..

I have not yet had the pleasure of attending the PIP event.

I cannot see myself in anything but a feathered and cocked hat. Not all funny.. but staid and dignified, as is appropriate to the captain of a well run ship.

Mind you, the round "Pennsylvania" hats with the short brim I have heard are all the rage this season in Paris, but I for one do not wear Macaroni. I shall leave that to younger men with less dignity and more attention to the ephermalities of that which is currently de la mode than I.

Time for an ale....

Oh I second this! Robbie is phenomenally good at making "X"s...
