Jack Roberts Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Woven silk shoe with red leather British 1720- 1730 Interesting how the back of the shoe is made. Very similar to what I've seen in reproductions of leather shoes today. (Not saying that is PC or anything.)
Jack Roberts Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 ...and yet another green shoe from the period. Green Shoe About 1710 Leather sole, covered wooden heel, satin trimmed with silk braid Made in England

And yes exquisite shoes, i wonder if they were comfortable or if the women back then just grew used to those shoes? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/Dara286/trident01-11.png If you got a dream chase it, cause a dream won't chase you back...(Cody Johnson Till you Can't)
Cheeky Actress Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 (edited) Jack, these are a pleasure to see. You must be ecstatic about seeing all these lovely historical items up close! Any signs of lady's accessories – like the Fontage or headdresses of the time period? Edited January 28, 2009 by Cheeky Actress Member of "The Forsaken"
RustyNell Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 (edited) I definitely prefer a mule...easier to get out of I actually like the squared toe... maybe not that LONG though! LOL but the embroidery is gorgeous! Oh and Jack ... you call shoes CRAP!! are you kidding LOL Edited January 26, 2009 by RustyNell “PIRACY, n. LadyBarbossa Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Mules are comfy. They are of similiar concept as the modern mules. ~Lady B Tempt Fate! an' toss 't all t' Hell!" "I'm completely innocent of whatever crime I've committed." The one, the only,... the infamous!
