Cpt Sophia M Eisley
Will folks be heading to the roast sunday night, or heading into town for some food 'n libations? Perhaps we'll meet again under better circumstances. ---(---(@ Dead Men...Tell No Tales. Welcome, Foolish Mortals...
hurricane
Our entire crewe will be there for the pig roast. We love the event and the cast party is right after that. It's not open to the public so it doesn't show on the schedule... The pig and sides are terrific and it's a helluva lot cheaper than eating in town. And the atmosphere is far better. -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. Fayma Callahan
Definately Hog Roast! Wouldn't miss it! The food is excellent, this price very fair and the company exceptional! We will have some surprises for the Crewe Dinner, so please plan on being there! http://picasaweb.google.com/jamesacallahan100
Mary Diamond
The Roast is an event not to be missed ~ the food is great, the company couldn't be better, and Tony's slideshow last year was fantastic. Count Mark and I in! Oooh, shiny!
Capt. Sterling
Aye the roast is the place to be... if ye can stay awake! Captain Jim
Thou shalt go to the pig roast. It is the one meal not to be missed. And if the Callahans are promising something special, believe it. The Callahans are one of the unsung aspects of PiP. They are golden. As verbose as I can be at some times, there are simply no words to describe what the Callahans bring to the event. Words fail. Mission
I'll be there, although I won't be eating the pig. Harry
Let me put it this way... There is absolutely no place on this island where you can get a couple slices of pig and all the trimmin's plus your own libations (remember, this event is after-hours and closed to the public) for $5!!! I would highly recommend to all who are camping to stock up on grub from the local grocery store and cook over yer own fires instead of heading off to these so-called restaurants around here. NONE of them offer up the food and ambiance like yer gonna get at the encampments! ALL of them are way over-priced. Before I took my present job, I managed two of the so-called eateries on Duval Street. Rip-off city is what it really is! ------- Fort Taylor Pyrate Fest MySpace Page Master Hairbone's MySpace Page ------- There is no more equitable judge than a cannon
hurricane
Nothing could be truer than what Harry says. As much as I love some places in town, breakfast for two at Blue Heaven. $31. Four days at the fort last year with spiral cut ham, steak, cheese, breads, fruits and veggies -- $50 per person. And we ate like kings breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ended up bringing a lot of it home. If you're driving, make your last stop the WalMart in Florida City just before you start into the keys. We supplement that with runs to the local stores for bread and ice so we can keep things fresh. But it is so much easier and way more fun to eat on site. I know that Silkie's addition of the ordinary out at the encampment will make this more convenient for those who are individuals. -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. Cpt Sophia M Eisley
Sounds like a shindig and meal not to be missed. That, and Jim said "thou shalt", so... I plan on getting a cooler to bring down some food for myself. How far away's the nearest place for ice down there Hurricane? Perhaps we'll meet again under better circumstances. ---(---(@ Dead Men...Tell No Tales. Welcome, Foolish Mortals...
Stynky Tudor
I'll be there - drinking with Mission - listening to him talk smack about all of you. ;lol: Hurricane, Thanks for the tip on making the pre-keys Florida City WallyWorld stop, that is excellent! hurricane
We usually just make a car run over to the major stores like Albertsons and such over on Roosevelt every other morning. I know there are places closer, we just make it easy on the crewe so whoever goes can find the store. Mission
The gibbet won't actually hold people - or even the 25 lb skeleton for that matter. It's plastic and held together with 1/4-20 screws and the instructions explicitly state that all weight must be suspended by the turnbuckle that holds the top of the cage together. It's actually too bad because I sent it down to the Bone Island Buccaneers for their Halloween event and Harry wanted to put Spike in it.
