Ransom
Chain Shot and I will be there, along with other members of Tales of the Seven Seas. Probably the first weekend, as that is our usual. Come by and say howdy. The Tales encampment is easy to find. The House of Bang and Boom is also part of the Tales group...we have pistols...and cannons. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott. madPete
What... no Patrick Hand or Oderlesseye goin to this event? Aye, hope to see all of you that answered affirmatively. Are there rules requiring individuals to be a part of a crew (camping)? As there be a only a smattering of Mercury crew in the West, I'm trying to decide what to do fer this event. Also, are there guidelines or a set of Black powder rules available? Thank Ye, madPete Aye... Plunder Awaits!
Red-Handed Jill
Patt has been double-booked the past couple of years - maybe he'll be back in the TO7S camp this year. And Oderless Eye was at the second weekend, if memory serves. And you can attend without being part of a group, but if you want hang out after hours, camp or fire black powder, you need to register with a group. Tales of the Seven Seas will be attending the first weekend, so if you're interested, when the time comes I can put you on our gate list. And with regards to black powder, the rangemaster will go over the rules and regs with everyone prior to the afternoon battles.
madPete
Thank you Jill, I may take you up on the offer. With TLAPD, there is a lot happening at that time. I was just hoping to raise interest early on and get the skinny. madPete Aye... Plunder Awaits!

Graydog
Don't be surprised if this event only is one (1) weekend this year. The weekend looks to be September 18 & 19. Look fer an official announcement in a few weeks or less. Why am I sharing my opinion? Because I am a special snowflake who has an opinion of such import that it must be shared and because people really care what I think!
Graydog
Its now offical. Just one weekend, Sep. 18 & 19. http://www.goldcoastfestivals.com/OjaiPirate.html Why am I sharing my opinion? Red-Handed Jill
Not surprising. The expansion into two weekends was an experiment, based on the overwhelming number of people who were attending. But it was probably a case of diminishing returns, not getting as much traffic for the amount of money they had to lay out for two weekends (and probably the week in-between...) Ransom
So far as I know, Chain Shot and I will be there, hanging with all of our Tales of the Seven Seas gang. FYI, the Oakridge Inn is the closest hotel to the event, and fills up fast. If you do not intend to camp, that is the place to be. Nothing fancy, but better than driving up from Ventura. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold...
