historyfanatic
Whadda ya think? He's about 5'4" tall. Unfortunately he's gonna spend a weekend on the gibbet in about a week at Pirates of Paynetown, but that's ok because he's already dead... His name is Thomas Guilford and he's a PYRATE! I managed to scare the dog pretty good this afternoon when I first got him put together. She didn't know what to think of it. My wife's not real thrilled either and has banished him to the guest bedroom because she doesn't want him to freak her out when she gets up for work in the morning... I think the neighbors got a glimpse of him in the yard while I was painting him, but that's ok, they already think I'm completely insane! Tomorrow I'm gonna build him a coffin! (Yeah, I know, he needs a hammock, but I don't feel like doing that much handstitching... The coffin will be quicker...) Oh, and the gold teeth are removable... Raphael Misson
Cool! The gold teeth are a great idea...most Bucky skeletons have those two missing teeth... Got any photos of him in the gibbet? “We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong. historyfanatic
I will post a picture of the gibbet and coffin when I get them done. (Hopefully today) In the meantime, here is an 18th century anti-smoking ad... Capt. Sterling
Maybe once you have the chains on him, you can carefully "bend" him upright a bit more. historyfanatic
Maybe once you have the chains on him, you can carefully "bend" him upright a bit more. I'm actually gonna have to take everything off and try to straighten it. It actually has a steel rod running through most of the spine... Pretty solid piece really... :) Now I'm wondering how I'm gonna get all this loaded into the truck. Gotta carry 3 boats, scaffold, flagpoles, coffin, 2 cannons, tent poles and the usual camp/shop gear in one trip! Capt. Sterling
Tuck the three boats inside one another, put the body in the coffin, put the coffin in the top boat along with all the poles and camp gear, tie the scaffold to the roof of the vehicle and put the cannons in the back seat...IF yer lucky, you might have room behind the wheel "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell...
