Pyracy Pub - Offline??

Recommended Posts

the last few days I was getting an error message when I tried to access the Pyracy Pub, I tried different browsers, but no mater what I did, it came up as an error message, no other sites I visit were likewise affected. Was it only me that had this problem? What happened, did we get boarded?

Tis true.

I sat thar with rum in hand and all perplexed as it were lookin at an electronic porthole that be all white with an error message, perplexed I be. So, I had a sip of me rum and waited, then had another sip as it were and time went by. Sure enough come Monday and thar be the pub back a shinin through me porthole. If’n it t’werent fer me rum, I might have wasted the weekend, as it were.

After you've hung around the Pub awhile, you understand that it goes off-line every now and then. Nothing to get drunk over — okay, let me rephrase that — noting to worry about! It always comes back on-line eventually.

I t'was hopin' it was just a bit of maintainence. But in that weekend of no Pub... (no warning, either)... I felt some major Pub withdrawls!

I missed this Pub, all th' threads, chattin' with ye guys. Of all that's out there (mighty boring compared t' this forum), this is THE hot spot an' th' Best!

So glad was able to get onto it t'day. Aye, I was rather bummed out with no Pub all weekend long.

Yup, sit with th' rest of us addicted Pubbers.:huh::huh:

I actually got a lot done IRL...

"The time was when ships passing one another at sea backed their topsails and had a 'gam,' and on parting fired guns; but those good old days have gone. People have hardly time nowadays to speak even on the broad ocean, where news is news, and as for a salute of guns, they cannot afford the powder. There are no poetry-enshrined freighters on the sea now; it is a prosy life when we have no time to bid one another good morning."

I discovered first thing Saturday morning the Pub was off-line...whatever...I was kind of hoping maybe it was being worked on....well we can only hope....

I went to the movies and get home to a message from Oderlesseye asking me what's going, in a bit of a panicky voice.

Ya sure, like I'm gonna know..... cid_015a01c8b0b6e0ea7f6074490644win.gif

I know nothing and you can't get it out of me.

Pub withdrawl, do we need to start a support group?

They should do like ISPs do; whenever the forums are down they could just send each o' us a PM so we will be notified, this way no one will panic.

When I worked tech support for Earthlink they used to send all customers an e-mail to let them know the mail servers were down and being 'diligently worked on', 'n the message would thank everyone for their patience 'n request they do not call Tech Support. :P

Yup, noticed the pub was down but, was on my way out the door to St. Louis for a great weekend of fun (despite the heat and humidity) so didn't worry. It was back when I got back so things are good.

After the trouble Renaissance Forums had with hackers (and very nearly loosing that board!) I was a bit worried. Heck, I miss my daily romps through these boards and reading what ya scurvy lot be up to!

Indeed, this pub be a welcome harbor in a life of stormy seas (mundane world in general)
