Zephaniah, I 'LOVE' your pirate lass! That is wonderful for tees, especially womens' tees, and that you did it for breast cancer research makes it that much more wonderful!! I'm honored that you did something from the 'heart'. Its actually close to something I thought of but could never do myself. I'm not talented like you are. :) as far as I'm concerned you are a 'real' artist. I would also like to have a simple logo that can be used by men and mundanes, kids, and other types of clothes like hats, sweats, bags. I"m hoping that we can have a few designs to pick from. The breast cancer site has about 300+ logos availible, mostly simple ones, but NONE for pirates. I like the idea of the Save My Guns, Save the Treasured Chests, Save the Boobies (has been taken, dang), I love the ribbons, tho! Zeph, can you do a drawing of the map/chest idea? I only need surgery on the left, the right is free of any other spots that would need a biopsy. That means surgery as planned on June 12th, out patient. I came into this thread way late, but, having had three "dances" with the big C, one which cost me the lower third of my right lung, I can understand your feelings and fear. But the fact that you caught it at ground "0" is great, and that your spirits are good, is even greater. For the rest of you pirate wenches, getting a mammogram is essential. Yeah, no one likes to have their boobs squished (at least my a nurse), but it can save your life. I just had one about two weeks ago, and with the new digital machines, it's really not as bad or as uncomfortable as it used to be. You go, Mary girl. I'm going to try and get back to work in the first week, so I dont have to use much PTO. I also am trying to decide whether to do the fast way radiation and have 2 radiation treatments in one day for a week, or spread it out over 6 weeks, with no breaks but can go to work before... I also have to have a re-check about 2 weeks after surgery, to make sure all the cells are gone. If there are still some, then another go round in outpatient. The part I hate to hear about is that I will have to take estrogen suppressors for the next.. 4? years. I get to become Fred, the very white(no suntanning) guy. As Bette Davis said, its going to be a bumpy night! Ransome, you are an awesome person, and one I am glad to have met. I understand why you cant make PW, but I wish you could. I would buy you a large cold ale, and we could watch the sun go down, and know that there will be another one next year for us.. here's looking at you, kid! As long as they are a bit different, we can use it too. I found out you can print on tissue paper from your PC, and then glue it to wood. It looks like the wood is painted, but nice and neat. That may be an option for the signs, like Lady Alyx suggested. I appreciate your support in my battle, Rumba. The surgery and radiation is mostly on go mode, with me just showing up on time. I"m mostly worried about insurance and FMLA, and PTO. My kids are pretty busy, so its mainly just me handling all the stuff. My insurance changed May 31, so its $500 deductible on what is covered. I am VERY sure the company is not happy with my health issues. Bottom line is that cancer treatment is expensive. Ironically, I just came back to work from another surgery, and me not having any before 2003! Someone at work had an MRI and they got $74 towards it from the insurance. At that rate, my $30,000 treatment will pay me around $1000. anyone want to adopt a single white dude? Only 2 of about 6 bridges are left from east to west downtown, and parts of the John Deere plant are full of water. I"m about 3 blocks from a levy that is full of churning waters. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers this THURSDAY!!... and GET A MAMMOGRAM, DAMMIT!!. they never would have found it with a breast exam. Only the mammogram found it so early.. I"m thinking of having wench tees designed and sold to help fight breast cancer. SAVE THE WUBBIES! is my idea for the wenches' items, and PROTECT OUR TREASURED CHESTS for the pirates. If anyone would like to donate to the breast cancer fund, let me know or give at your local center. They thought it to be benign. However, just to play it safe they biopsied it. Low and behold they found cancer. I will never forget the look on the doctor's face when he got the report as he read the report the first time right in front of me. I had to go back and have the second part of my thyroid removed because of cancer. Thankfully, they had found it when in the very earliest of stages. So, my best to you always. I had the lumpectomy today, outpatient, and they are pretty sure they got it all. There will be a re-check in 1 week or sooner, and then they will see about the radiation.. its a bit swollen and sore but not that bad. again, thank you all!! for the help and friendship you have sent me.. it made a difference. and Rumba, the pin you sent me is wonderful.
