Red Cat Jenny
"I am neither giving up nor giving in" - Charleton Heston Charleton Heston crossed over yesterday at his home at the age of 83. He was an icon many of us grew up with. He also fought a corageous battle with alzheimers. Hell be missed. A nice article about him in the NY Times Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.... Her reputation was her livelihood. I'm a pirate, love. By nature and by choice! My inner voice sometimes has an accent! My wont? A delicious rip in time...
Capt. Bo of the WTF co.
Just saw this on another forum. He is truly one of our great American spirits. Moses, Planet of the Apes, Omega Man, countless movies and people's rights advocate always. Yes, he will be sorely missed by this ol' gun nut. bo
Cap'n Pete Straw
Damn those dirty apes! As soon as I heard the news this morning, I rushed to the Forum to see if this had been posted. I am in mourning over this. He was one of my all-time favorite actors (I have a short list of perhaps five). This is hardly "Beyond Piracy" as Charleton Heston portrayed Long John Silver (1990). He and I were both bon in the same city (Evanston, IL). Another rifle fan who will miss this rifle fanatic. "He's a Pirate dancer, He dances for money, Any old dollar will do... "He's a pirate dancer, His dances are funny... 'Cuz he's only got one shoe! Ahhrrr!"
Rick Skinner
Strange, I was thinking about "Will Penny" just yesterday. A true legend of Hollywood. He had the ability to make any character larger than life.
MadL
Aye, another great one moves on. Too bad we don't seem to have an equal amount of newbies moving in... To Charleton Heston ~All skill be in vain if an angel pisses down th' barrel o' yer flintlock! So keep yer cutlass sharp, 'n keep her close! Graydog
He was always a gracious man and very kind to his fans. His marriage lasted over 60 years. More than just an icon, he was a role model. He will be missed. At least he walked this earth until his 80's, a rich rewarding fact for all of us, and we can take solice in that his was a full life not cut short. Har be a toast to Long John Silver, it be, and long may his memory remain. -Greydog Why am I sharing my opinion? Because I am a special snowflake who has an opinion of such import that it must be shared and because people really care what I think!
Red Sea Trade
And let us not forget that he co-starred in "The Buccaneer". OK, so he wasn't a buccaneer, but still... Red Sea Trade In days of old when ships were bold just like the men that sailed 'em, and if they showed us disrespect we tied 'em up and flailed 'em, often men of low degree and often men of steel, they'd make you walk the plank alone or haul you 'round the keel. --Adam and the Ants
LadyBarbossa
No.... :::Stunned beyond belief::: You are joking, aye? I'd not heard this. Bloody hell!!! He'll be greatly missed in this world. M' first fav movie he graced was "The Ten Commandments". I'll need see ANYONE play Moses better than he. And he made a hell of a great John Silver in Treasure Island, too. M' hat's off with a sorrowful black heart missin' one o' the greatest actors in history. May th' Colours be flown at Half Mast. An' salutes made much like t'was done fo' Morgan's funeral. ~Lady B Tempt Fate! an' toss 't all t' Hell!" "I'm completely innocent of whatever crime I've committed."
