I've loved pirates since I saw Peter Pan and Muppet Treasure Island, and since the Pirates of the Caribbean movies have come out a wide array of pirate fiction has followed in their wake and so I've been able to get my fill of new stories by reading those. I'm a writer at heart, and though I have a wide interest in writing fantasy and scifi, I have two writing projects involving pirates that I work on occasionally, so I was glad to have found this forum where I could glean so much inspiration from the likes of yourselves. :) At some point I would love to be involved in reenactments, but with the severe lack of sea this far inland, I think the only 'ship' I can claim to be captain of is my horse as we go sailing over the hills. As for my name, I wish I had a fance story of how I got it, but The Barbary Rose was thrown out of a pirate name generator and I just really liked it, lol.
