Yeah, sisnce we were tucked 'inside', and behind Kalmar Nyckel, I figure he was totally 'blind' to everything, with that low aspect of a 'kayak'...(and probably why he slipped past all basic safety procedures...the short version; he either needed to be 'on Prozac', or 'off the crack pipe'

Now Captain...we could take turns taking care of the snottys. I am sure we can work something out so you can enjoy some of the party.

I think Silkie and I could cause a bit of a stir (cough) while we enjoy the music and then, Silkie can fetch ye or I can do so at your bidding.

Either way...we can at least have one dance with you!

(Narrowing Eyes)...

I've had care of such things in my past. Children can be watched over in my care...

Unless you rather spend it with me...dancing, drinking, laughing...???

Ahoy Royaliste! Need someone to .... ahem... watch the ship whilst ye and yer lady attend said ball?

yeah thats what we said when we saw the $40 tag too. as already noted the air and space center is hosting the ball so not much we can do there. on a happier note. if there is an urchin sittin issue, please pm me with your needs including the ages of the young souls. we may be able to make arrangements with one of the crews daughters who sits, i'm not sure what she charges. i will say this would be a limited availability and definitely preplanned. no check your kids at the door.

Still need a damn boat Lill, either way! And from all I been reading, some of the hunters be worse than the prey.

Ahoy Dutchie, the problem being the snotties are aged 10 and 13... I need someone old enough to keep them in line and not out on the town! :P:lol:

And for anyone cringing at the ticket price, with the air and space museum, and the spread of food I remember, that 40dollars is WELL worth the price... Ye still have the entertainment as well?

indeed good captain, plenty of good entertainment and food as well. i have yet to hear of anyone leaving hungry- or sober- for lack of want. just pace yourself- its a long weekend.

as far as entertainment, we will have the stage for a song or two, and if memory serves me right i think a group that shall remain nameless but just celebrated 10,000 hits on their site is performing as well. (if i am out of turn here please correct me) plus there is the unknown, its late in the night, lets keep this party going crowd.

Ah..a fine offer indeed, sir..but..on a minor note, the ball is a little rich for our blood, and when we sail on the festival schedule, we have to limit the amount of garb, as there is just so much room aboard, so the 'fancy' stuff stays behind in the trailer in favor of 'deck seaman' stuff...Now, the BIG reason....without offending anyone, I generally pull first anchor watch, so the crew can party some...Most all of the Tallship Festivals furnish a motel room for each ship's captain...since 2004, I've never used the room furnished, we just let the gang split the time showering, and soaking up some air conditioning...Last year, in Miramichi, New Brunswick traveling with Pride of Baltimore II, I gave in, being a wee bit under the weather, and used the room....When I returned in the morning, our precious bronze swivel gun was stolen,so......Part of the Ship, Part of the Crew, me bucko's...on a different tack, stop on by, we're generally pretty 'deck friendly' in the evenings. If'n 'e do wanna little deck time, please leave swords behind, or check 'em on deck, as their isn't much 'swing room'.....About that 'sitter', we may be packing our grandson again, the three year old powder monkey, and 'Heir Apparent'' to the ole Privateer.....

Thank ye for the kind invitation. We shall make a point of stopping by minus swords but not minus the rum.
