Commodore Swab

Recommended Posts

I have been a part of pirates in Ft Meyers as well as Key west and am new here on these forums. Being young and new I did not have a sufficiant name until tonight (I live in the Conch Republic state of Key Largo). Here a party is common as it is everywhere else but a pirate party among friends is also very common. anyways back to the topic on hand, I now have a name and that name as it has been given among my peers in a real pub experience (bearing in mind I own a 18 foot hobie, 21 foot center console, a 25 foot chris craft which was recently "acquired" and a 40 foot vintage ketch which have all together been acquired for under $200) which I first disagreed with due to rank but seems fitting. Has been . . .

The $200 fleet...either you are one shrewd negotiator or you're living the boat owner's nightmare. Unless you "aquired" them in good old-school pyrate style. Welcome aboard and here's to the success of your fleet.

Oh, Come Now, Captain's Jim and Sterling! You met Commodore Swab at PiP ~ not even a little good-natured banter about his name?

Your new moniker is perfectly fitting, my Dear!

Commodore Swab is just that ~ he swabbed the Commodore's cannons in his red breeches and white shirt, and was chastised for bleeding on the mortar.

Welcome to the Pub, Commodore Swap. Quite a fleet you have there. But, I got to be honest, I'm not telling me other half about you and your project boat. He's been wanting to take on something like that for a while now, and I don't want to encourage him. I'm perfectly satisfied with our 28' vintage Tollycraft.

Cheers, mate.

You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott.

Actually I was taking his name a little more litteraly...a swab is a young sailor, and a commodore is in command of more than one ship. Hence Commodore Swab, without reference to the cannon experience. I hadn't thought of that. So many levels, that name. Of course we're going to calll you Swab, you know.
