Commodore Swab
Last weekend I became a part of PiP in the background helping as a part of the gun crew. This was not my first festival but was my second and I did see many familiar faces between the 2 events I have become an unofficial part of. I really enjoyed the festival and hope to become a more integral part next year. I have been activly reading many of the threads and approve of much of what I hear, regarding the safety issue during one of the battles I happened to catch a finger and while it was nothing more than a small scratch it did bleed a bit. Within seconds of others noticing there was a bandaid in my hand, my compliments even though it was so small I didnt need it the response was immediate and I was very impressed. Captain Jim
Welcome aboard, mate! I am a sailor of a "certain vintage" myself, raised on Tampa Bay and the Gulf. If you were on a cannon there has got to be a picture on the Callahan's site with you in it. Link to it here so that we can get a look at who we're talking with. That's one of the neat things about PiP is putting faces with people that I have known for a quite a while now. My occupational hazard bein' my occupation's just not around... Captain Jim
I love John Alden's designs. He and Herreschof (Nat, that is) are my two favorite designers. Their designs moved with the wind and water as opposed to trying to bend it to their will. You must now post pictures of that as well. By the way, I think I remember you from the battle on Sunday. You bled a little on the mortar, as I remember. I was falling back to a position on your right and firing small arms. My occupational hazard bein' my occupation's just not around...
