Cap'nPern Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Welcome to the news forum for Blackbeards Crew the Pressgang Master Dutchman will be handling the communications via this forum.
Cheeky Actress Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Ooo Goodie! Let's see...first question. Encampment space for visiting Pyrate crewes. Whom do we speak to and is there forms to fill out? Cheeky Member of "The Forsaken"
Capt. Sterling Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 My Word Lilly, calm down... have already gotten instructions from Dutchman as to what is required of us... get me a head count and how many and what size tents we shall be packing.... "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/
Capt. Sterling Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 What was the tree situation like? If we can string hammocks and tarps, we take up a whole lot less space? Can I take a drive over to review the grounds again after the holidays? Cheeky Actress Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Oh and Captain...make sure that we are able to have an area for a firepit big enough for an army! Very well...not an army...no want for Red Coats there! Member of "The Forsaken"
Cap'nPern Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 Captain Sterling and Cheeky Actress, There is a possibility that there will be a fire pit sufficient to feed an army. Are you prepared to feed 100 pyrates? Not firming anything up but seeing if the exuberance for the fire pit can be taken advantage of... Dutchman tells me you are going to provide some video of your past attacks on unsuspecting victims. Any progress on that Captain? Cap'n Pern
TheBlackFox Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 no want for Red Coats there! The local tribesmen of Virginia say that Redcoats taste like chicken. . . bring on Britain's finest, mates. I think an orc in some movie said: "MEAT'S BACK ON THE MENU, BOYS."

Capt. Bo of the WTF co. Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 My unit Captain is very dissapointed in me not going to Gettysburg, but I just don't care to be out on the field with fifteen to twenty thousand others in ranks in July. That is a recipe for disaster for me. Two or three hundred is more than enough people for me! Any how, I am formulating a plan based on this festival. Ihope this works out so I can meet a few of the faces I converse with here! Do I need to send any info for "footprints" of our camp? If it's just me and the oldest, then we will be packing light, but if the whole "regiment" goes, then of course our camp is significantly more substantial. Please advise... thanx... Bo
Dutchman Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 ahoy capt bo, i'm indeed glad to hear more fine folks are gearing up to pay their respects to the good captain- this the 290th anniversary of his death and all- at our wee party by the sea. I wish i had good news on tenting availability, but this is an area where we are waiting ourselves. we are expecting word shortly on any additional space for the camp. in the mean time, below is a list of decent places from the raid post to help your planning along. don't forget to bring your fancies for the grand ball friday night. if i can be of any help please don't hesitate to yell. humbly, -dutch hotels within 5 miles that you would not mind leaving your grandmother in radisson (sits in the festival grounds) 1-757-727-9700 holiday inn, hampton hotel & convention center 1-757-838-0200 embassy suites 1-757-827-8200 campgrounds Newport News parks 1-757-888-3333 (tis a real number, i checked)

Black Dog Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Shhhh - tis a secret, For anyone who is attending the Fest, pyrate or not - Gosnold Park is a great small campground - but only if you have a trailer, rv, or popup. Gosnold Park is about 3-4 miles from the fest. I stayed there 2 fests ago. Very nice - clean - cheap @ $10 bucks a night. The only draw back - no tents allowed. OK - well - there are 2 draw backs - they don't take reservations - its first come first serve. There were still over 2/3's of the camp empty when I was there. http://www.freecampgrounds.com/detail.aspx?id=547 Cookie You can ner' have enough sand in yer stew.
