Aedon Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Just what was worn in the GAoP? My knowledge is far from complete and I lack several key areas. In the spirit of "one day at a time," I'll pose these closely related questions. O ring belts- accurate for our period? and- just when were they used if not GAoP? I apologize if echoing previous questions, I was unable to locate an answer in the available threads. Ducking in case of a storm, Aedon -Aedon Me mum named me Aedon. Me mates call me Lucky. Me enemies call me a bastard. And anyone in a position of authority calls me "that lucky bastard Aedon."
Rumba Rue Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 O ring belts were used in an earlier era. In GoP, you'll find buckle type correct. The width of the belt can vary as much as the length, it just depends on what you are using it for. Are you wearing it around your waist or are you going to use it as a baldric? Colors tend to be black or brown, but even a woven belt can be colorful, it just depends on how you like color choices.
Captain Pogue Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Check out the Clothing Index in the sticky at the top of Captain Twill. there is a link there for belts. Conceptual Simplicity, Structural Complexity, Achieves a Greater State of humanity.
Will Fiddle Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 While rectangular buckles would be the style in GAoP, surely there would have been holdovers from the past, either by the age of the buckle or the age of the bucklemaker who makes what he prefers? Stirring the pot... Your most and obliged humble servant, William Dezoma
