...IF THEY HAD THEM, THEY'D USE THEM!

Unfortunatly... they won't let me get one in California ( some idiot bought one up in Origon and shot up a school down here.... so we can't have them... gotta love that kinda thinking....)

Oh well........

Those photos were taken in the gun-loving state of WI. The following states have assault weapons bans:

California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.

"Imports of assault weapons not already banned by administrative action under Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush were also halted. Assault weapons and ammunition clips holding more than 10 rounds produced prior to September 13, 1994, were "grandfathered" in under the law and can still be possessed and sold."

I thought it was a felony t' possess any fully automatic weapon? Did the federal laws change?

Automatic weapons are legal in many states to include California. They are regulated under the federal National Firarms Act (NFA), its a mere $200 per instance transfer tax and a very involved registration process. Of course, you don't comply with that law, it's indeed a big time felony and getting that federal permit isn't easy.

However, the trick is in the fine print, yes they are legal in many states, but many of those states adopt state regulations that makes it virtually impossible to get a permit. That is the case in California where individual ownership is technically legal for machineguns, but the reality is you can't get a permit as an individual.

Why am I sharing my opinion? Because I am a special snowflake who has an opinion of such import that it must be shared and because people really care what I think!

Thanks Graydog and Cheeky fer the 411. I haven't fired an automatic weapon in over twenty-five years, suppose if I want t' fire one again, I'll hav t' visit Wisconsin.

Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."
